Yes, we can condemn all forms of violence
AND support a movement.
Yes, we can be privileged
AND stand up for the rights of those who aren't.
Yes, we can hold different opinions
AND still engage in dialogue.
But when violence dominates the conversation, what happens to the demands?
To those who protest peacefully?
To the desperation that drives people into the streets?
I reject this black-and-white view of the world. Where condemning means rejecting. Where nuance is seen as betrayal. Where questioning means taking sides.
And while I embrace nuance, some principles are non-negotiable: everyone's rights and dignity, freedom, equality, and respect for our differences.
I refuse to mistake nuance for indecision, or duality for inconsistency.
Let me explain what’s happening in France. 🇫🇷
For years, students and citizens have felt ignored by a government that has repeatedly failed to listen to them. And now, people have finally reached their breaking point.
This isn’t some petty tantrum. We’re talking about very basic educational inequality and working conditions that a supposedly first-world country should be able to provide. While private institutions may remain largely unaffected, public schools and the students who depend on them continue to bear the consequences.
And with the next presidential election approaching, and the far right playing an increasingly prominent role in france’s politics, frustration is turning into anger, and anger is spilling into the streets.
Do not let the media convince you that this came out of nowhere. This was inevitable.
The actual protestors have manifested incredibly peacefully and have shown the true heart of their country, but as with so many large demonstrations in France, tensions escalate. Police brutality only fuels the fire, while others exploit the chaos as an excuse to vandalize and destroy the cities we love.
I will never condone that destruction. But I can understand where some of that anger comes from. When people feel that their families, their futures, and their most basic needs have been ignored for years, resentment builds up.
It genuinely breaks my heart to see my city burn the way it did yesterday. Paris is my home, and watching it suffer like this is devastating.
But we’ve been talking about actual change for over fifteen years, and I sincerely hope that, this time, someone in power finally listens before things get even worse.
I stand with everyone who has suffered through this chaos, whether they were protesting peacefully, simply trying to get home, or watching their cities being destroyed 😔🖤
Sometimes this space really does bring you your closest friends, and today I get to celebrate her birthday. The person without whom I wouldn’t have survived the last four years. Happy birthday 🖤@run_tifa_run
For the past 6 years, I’ve had the privilege of collecting and supporting so many incredible artists, and that’s not going to change. But right now, I have a MUSICAL to create 🙏
It costs a fortune, and my team and I are pouring everything into it. At the end of the day, none of this matters if we don’t create something we can all be proud of. For once, in this space, I’m putting my own art first.

I am VERY excited to be working with @lphaCentauriKid on a new collecting initiative dedicated to artists within our industry who might not get the attention they deserve.
At the heart of it is something I deeply admire: ACK’s desire to give back by using collecting as a way to meaningfully support artists and direct attention toward exceptional work that may not yet be receiving the recognition it deserves.
I’ll be looking across a range of disciplines, from photography and generative art, to other digital-native practices and beyond, with the aim of identifying and acquiring exceptional examples of artists’ work.
It’s an incredibly generous gesture, and one rooted in the idea that collecting can be more than acquisition. It is a form of patronage, encouragement, and belief in someone’s practice.
Very excited to see where this takes us.
Writing a musical is a feeling I can’t quite describe. It’s in every goosebump from a melody that suddenly pours out of you, every tear shed over characters who have somehow become real.
After two years, I’m finally at a place where I’m living for the story we’re writing. The characters have found the depth this story always deserved.
Thank you for your patience, and for trusting us through the process.
At the very least, I can promise you this: it’ll be an experience you’ve never had before.
