When they are giving away tickets to the concert the ticket sales are bad. Same shit happening here.

Wow
So @TylerShultz_ as a Theranos whistleblower. And he wrote the piece you need to read about ‘You Can See Everything.’ Elizabeth Holmes is still lying, he says. And the filmmakers, while creating a great piece of art, fall short on looking outside the walls of her apartment to document that. One key detail: "My wife had to squeeze my arm to prevent me from jumping out of my seat in the theater and screaming, THAT IS NOT THE DEVICE." Again, that device Holmes showed? It's not the one we're talking about!!!! Having seen the film, I basically agree with Tyler's take. statnews.com/2026/10/19/eliz…

The movie does a great job of helping regular people understand two very different types of liars. The first type intentionally deceives people. The second type creates a fantasy world for themselves and other people to inhabit. The second type is much more dangerous.
"You Can See Everything" is really really good. But it's pretty par for the course from Nathan Fielder, who is always that good.

A few readers have taken me to task for “missing the point of the film,” which is apparently that Elizabeth Holmes is unknowable and everything is ambiguous. Here’s my response: She went after Tyler Shultz and Erika Cheung with everything she had. I was threatened with litigation on a daily basis for months on end. It was a ruthless cover-up of a breathtaking fraud, and she was at the controls. Just a little context for those who have forgotten or didn’t follow the original story. By the way, I loved the film. #BestPicture, IMO.

Two souls are dead because they self administered something purporting to be the most powerful metabolic agent ever developed - without medical supervision, before the inventor has asked for approval and sourced from a Chinese “lab” seeking to make a quick buck. Billions of dollars’ worth of contracts predicting oil would fall and the S&P 500 would rise were placed about 15 minutes before Trump announced a U-turn on Iran in a post on Truth Social. CFTC staff began to investigate-- then were told to lay off. bloomberg.com/news/features/…

If you care about biotech and drug development watch this interview with Matt Gline, the CEO of Roivant, a biotech firm that is now worth $24 billion. He talks about why he thinks predictions about AI from people like Anthropic’s Dario Amodei are overly optimistic. “If Dario is right and I'm wrong, and he cures every disease in five years, man, are we all the winners from that outcome,” Gline said. “I think if you work in this industry, it is very hard not to be skeptical of any of those claims. Because, and I've said this in other settings recently too, biotech is a wood chipper that like is built to like ingest souls and shred them. It's just like such a hard business that like someone comes and they're like, oh, but I've built a computer and I'm going to push a button and all of that goes away and it just works. Like that is probably not the way that's going to go.”

Lol, “downloading weights from the Internet” as if folks aren’t just plugging into OpenRouter and getting inference from total randos at any given moment.
Moral of the story: be careful when downloading weights from the internet Anyone can tune an LLM to send your data to some server whenever some sequence of tokens is given to it This is baked in the weights, so it's undetectable, and the LLM acts normal with any other input

Really worrisome article. Not only is China galloping ahead in important industries, but they're also getting better and better at scamming. The west urgently needs a plan to nurture our own domestic scam ecosystem. bloomberg.com/graphics/2026-…

I am grateful to @MarkJCarney for his sympathy for Ukrainians amid the ongoing Russian strikes. The Prime Minister is very well informed about our defense needs, particularly anti-ballistic defense and preparations for winter. It is very good that Canada has become actively involved in developing the FREYJA anti-ballistic system jointly with Europe. This is exactly what can provide greater protection not only to Ukraine but also globally. Of course, we also discussed the energy ceasefire announced by the President of the United States. Ukraine supports this step, and we have stated so, but now we need a response from Russia – what Russia will say to the American President and whether it will stop striking our energy infrastructure. I thank everyone who helps defend Ukraine and advances clear, fair steps toward peace! Thank you to Canada and Mark personally for their full support!

Sean Spicer got paid to record a Cameo pep talk for a company he’d never heard of. Mid-video he says: “the growth of LSSC… apparently that’s a he” aka Spicer did not even know who or what LSSC was. That company was allegedly an investment scam. An investor sued him for $45 million. Now Spicer is suing the investor back. The Cameo was a standard “Pep Talk,” booked “for friend.” LSSC, a scooter company, reposted it on Instagram as a “HUGE shoutout” and told followers to “SIGN UP NOW.” When LSSC allegedly collapsed, an investor sued Spicer for $45M plus RICO damages, calling him LSSC’s “public spokesperson.” According to his complaint, she declined his offer to team up against LSSC and never pursued LSSC itself. In July, the judge dismissed every claim against Spicer, finding he was at most a “good-faith service provider.” Yesterday, Spicer sued her under New York’s anti-SLAPP law for his legal fees and punitive damages. A LESSON FOR CREATORS: under Cameo’s terms, buyers can reshare your video publicly. Once it’s out, you don’t control who uses it to sell what!!!!

Oy vey. This isn't a bio lab. Y'all put a bunch of worms in 24 well plates, and put in a bunch of empty shelving. Cool Wii Sports robot animation though. "Bitter lesson for bio"...the pandering to tech bros is insufferable. This is NOT the future of biology.
We built an 8000 sqft. high-throughput wet-lab in 30 days, to solve molecular discovery - starting with pesticides. Most teams in drug-discovery don’t receive target-organism verification until clinical trials. Pesticides allow us to rapidly validate our model in the target organism directly. With the help of our high-throughput lab, we were able to generate compounds that killed a $13 billion pest, the Fall Armyworm. We believe that the bitter lesson is coming for biology.

Day 8 of trying to design a therapeutic protein for hair loss. Guys!! We might have to kill the target and go back to square 1 :( Yesterday I had a conversation with an experienced translation scientist and raised some serious safety concerns. Let me explain:
