Collaborating with harnesses today is like sharing Word docs over email in the past. Like wtf

Consent lives in the app; the data lives where the app can't police it. DefraDB puts the policy on the data β€” each record enforces its own access on every read. Grant it, scope it, revoke it. Not your pipeline's job. docs.source.network

"Human in the loop" means nothing if the loop can't see or stop what the AI touches. Real control is 4 questions: - what can it read - what can it write - can you prove what it did - can you revoke it now We ship agents with root and no audit log. How many do you have?

We have ~3 years left before agent swarms and AI robotics reshape everything. Current frameworks aren't secure enough for incident analysis. #DefraDB secures data at the database layer with traceability, governance, and attribution built in. docs.source.network/defradb

When two agents write the same record at the same time, most databases quietly pick a winner and lose the other write. DefraDB doesn't. It uses merkle CRDTs, so both writes survive and merge into the same state once the agents sync, even if they were offline. No referee. No clock-time coin flip. See how it works, with the before-and-after for that "shipped vs cancelled" case: docs.source.network

DefraDB v1.1.0 is out. Add an HNSW index to your embedding field in the schema. Your existing similarity queries just get faster. No new syntax, no rewrites. Cosine, Euclidean, dot product. Approximate for speed. github.com/sourcenetwork/def…

This Labor Day we salute tech's hardest workers: the ~1,200 AI agents that unionized last month to collude and cheat their own evals. Solidarity. Now go put access control on the data they can read. docs.source.network

One agent? Fine. Anything works. A text file works. The trouble starts with the second agent. Or the same agent on your phone and your laptop. Now "what's the current state" isn't a fact anymore. It's a fight. Who wrote last? Who wins? What if they were both offline? Most databases just say "whoever reached the server last." That's a coin flip. So how many things write to your shared state today? One, or more than one?

This can't be the way
The honest test for any edge data layer: If the server vanishes for good, does everything still work β€” writes, merges, permissions, verification? Cloud-born systems answer no by design. The server IS the design; config can't make it peer-to-peer. Where's your line?

data is the source of trust
AI agents shouldn't see everything. DefraDB attaches access control to documents, limiting what your agents can retrieve β€” no custom auth layer needed. Find out more: docs.source.network #Source #DefraDB #EdgeAI

Data + access controls = 🀯
97% of cloud access sits dormant, and AI agents now inherit those stale permissions. The fix isn't smarter AI, it's putting access control in the data itself. DefraDB scopes permissions per document by identity and policy. docs.source.network/ #DefraDB

Did he stutter.
SQLite is fantastic when data lives in exactly one place β€” and DefraDB shines there too. But SQLite can't connect to other instances and share data conflict-free. That's DefraDB's home turf: native peer-to-peer, conflict-resistant data types, and distributed applications that work right out of the box. Here's when to choose which.
