I’m 41, a girl dad and trying to get our family finances as organised as possible.
Here’s where my October payday goes:
🏡 £530 – Joint Monzo account for mortgage, council tax and household bills.
💰 £295 – Zopa for Christmas savings, insurance, Sky and credit cards.
📈 £100 – Stocks & Shares ISA. This month I bought Rolls-Royce shares.
🏦 £70 – SIPP for long-term retirement investing.
🛒 £250 – Joint Starling account for food, petrol and family spending.
🏏 £150 – Monzo Flex to cover planned summer fun, including The Ashes.
📋 £105 – Other bills and contributions towards my wife’s bills.
🍻 £200 – My guilt-free fun money for haircuts, football and anything else.
💳 £200 – Split into £50 weekly payments to help control my spending.
Every pound has a job.
It’s not about earning a fortune, it’s about having a plan for what you earn.

Anyone who knows me will tell you that when everyone has lost their heads, I’m probably still the only person in the room who looks like they’re not panicked… but if I was in this situation I don’t think I could keep my head level & process being told how to level this thing
