Some news. After ten years of talk, I've launched a new business offering automated contract templates. Very imaginatively, it's called Adams Contracts. It's at adamscontracts.com.
I'm currently at the Association of Corporate Counsel annual meeting in San Antonio. If you'd like to see our confidentiality agreement template in action, drop by @LegalSifter's booth (No. 720). We're also giving away five copies of A Manual of Style for Contract Drafting.

For corporate lawyers: almost all of them. @AdamsDrafting has made a career of proving this to us. I'm not even kidding. Thinking about what I drafted 20 years ago and the platitudes we'd all share is frankly embarrassing. And that was state of the art, AMLaw100 work.

I finally picked up the 5th edition to complete my set. @AdamsDrafting
For me, what's most notable about this is the "#780" part. What sticktoitiveness! But otherwise, if you have half an hour and would like to know what I'm about, without a lot of blather, this is the place. My thanks to @brianlfrye.
I just posted @IpseDixitPod #780, featuring @AdamsDrafting discussing his book "A Manual of Style for Contract Drafting," which is published by @ABAesq. shows.acast.com/ipse-dixit/e…

When I decided to forsake court advocacy and start my own non-contentious practice, I knew nothing of the philosophy of contract drafting. I read your book. I was completely won over by your reasoning on shall.
Hey @LIRR, does this rule apply to all personal electric vehicles or just those that are non-folding?
A good starting point for deciding how to treat "shall" in contracts is realizing that the general "rule" for using "shall" is preposterous. For how I build on that, see this article. adamsdrafting.com/wp-content…
