Good to get back to it after the longest international break of all our lives - one of the running things so far this season has been the bench. At what point do we need more? Where are contributions going to come from? #LUFC lsxi.substack.com/p/if-leeds…

How long before we go back to a 433? I can’t say there’s loads of games I’ve felt in need of the extra centre back this season

In 6 games so far this season, the bench has contributed to one Leeds goal. At some point, there has to be more. lsxi.substack.com/p/if-leeds… #LUFC #MOT

That is as an excellent example of away team football from us - remember all that nonsense about tanaka not being able to mix it at this level before this season? Look at the boy now

They said we’re playing WHAT?
"Ethan Ampadu is EVERYTHING I want Reece James to be" 👀 Is @Chelsearory right?

It’s been 24 hours and every credible suggestion is a club or level below ours… interesting
If we were to sell Brenden Aaronson and Dan James, where are their most likely destinations?

He’s been very good - it’s been really interesting to see the discourse round him though versus his predecessor. They’ve been pretty similar in terms of performance so far
👑 With 44% of the vote, Tarik Muharemović was our @HisenseUK Player of the Match against Crystal Palace yesterday

That was a hard watch. Another where the consensus will be ‘good point’ I guess. Now I’ve watched him though, it just makes Bahoya’s absence all the weirder, even if it was only two minutes, he looked far better than the men who came before him

Today I think we’d benefit from 2 proper wide men - especially since Stach just isn’t really in the game. Worked against Newcastle, might need more dynamism today Wonder who we could bring on

Posting this one last time as a bit of pre-match reading - and if we could have a 90 minutes like this one, that would be great. Please do share/subscribe if you like it etc. #LUFC #MOT lsxi.substack.com/p/leeds-4-…

One of the most interesting things I noticed on Monday was how much narrower Stach was playing vs how other people lining up as the 'right ten' and how much it seemed to help Bogle - more on that here #LUFC #MOT lsxi.substack.com/p/leeds-4-…

Pop Punk is back! In Leeds United form! Turn on Kerrang! and watch DCL bang in some bullet headers for #LUFC because we're here to save football from itself. Here's why: calumarchie.substack.com/p/l…

On Monday night, Leeds delivered perhaps their most complete performance since returning to the Premier League under Daniel Farke - It was also a great example of a system working at its optimum. #LUFC #MOT lsxi.substack.com/p/leeds-4-…

A few people mentioned around the game on Monday that there wasn’t enough tactical analysis going on around Leeds at the moment. So I tried my best to say something interesting on the system itself, which has always been very good #LUFC

Hopefully tanaka will remind people not to read into individual pre season performances much, good (longstaff) or bad. Having the physicality of stach ahead of him has definitely helped him Main point i want to make on tanaka though is that he probably deserves more appreciation for the importance of his intensity and reading out of possession. I had some more clips from monday but deleted them. But last two league games hes been one of the ones often starting a press from our aggressive 541 block by jumping to the rcb, and a very intense high presser too. First clip he also blocks the inside pass before engaging on thiaw again. He helped make it hard for Brighton to sustain pressure in the first half in that game. Hes been great at it all the way back to the championship where he always read play really well defensively, and everton at home last season where he often led the press well. Deserves more credit for it imo
Think people are being a bit reactionary on tanaka. Pre season is not the place to be judging individual performances, especially in poor team performances. I do think though that his weaknesses can be highlighted in a double pivot, which isnt ideal given how we play
