I feel like this fact is going overlooked: Mr. Khalil is a lawful permanent resident currently being jailed by the United States government purely because they did not like his speech and want to deport him for his words.
Emails below show Mahmoud Khalil's request for a temporary release to attend the birth of his first child, and the denial, 32 minutes later, by ICE Field Director Mellissa B. Harper. Khalil's wife, Dr. Noor Abdalla, gave birth to a baby boy on Monday. apnews.com/article/mahmoud-k…

Jeffrey Sachs on tariffs: "If you take your credit card and you go shopping and you run up a large credit card debt, you’re running a trade deficit with all those shops. Now, it would be pretty strange if you then blamed all the shop owners for having sold you all those things."

America used to build the future—now we buy it.
Without foreign steel & semiconductors the economy will shut down! This makes us vulnerable to China & costs MILLIONS of jobs.

Rewatching my interview with Fed Chair Powell from Nov. 14, 2024—10 days after Trump won election.
I asked Powell what we learned from prior episodes when the Fed was perceived as less politically independent. His response: Remember the 1970s?

Karoline Leavitt’s campaign debt in New Hampshire is messy.
Potential FEC violations abound. $300k in debt, $200k in illegal donations, which should have been returned within 60 days by law.
She went 3 years without reporting.
DO NOT SHARE ♻️. @PressSec wants this to go away.

BREAKING: The Dow is now barreling toward its worst April since 1932, the darkest year of the Great Depression.
Let that sink in: nearly a century later, and we’re back in the same economic stormclouds.
Markets are bleeding. Confidence is collapsing. And Washington’s still playing tariff roulette like it’s a game show.
This isn’t a correction, it’s a flashing red siren.
