‘Similar to cricket betting’: Amid India’s #IPO booms, why investors need to watch out for #grey markets Genuine investors worry about such practices and equate them with illegal “betting activity in cricket matches” and a “parallel black economy”. “What was previously a covert activity is now conducted in broad daylight across #WhatsApp, #Telegram groups and public tracking portals and others. This open black market makes a mockery of #SEBI’s mandate to maintain a fair, transparent and orderly market,” said Arun Goenka, founder president, SIREN. #RBI @SEBI_Awareness @FinMinIndia @TuhinKantaiktw #NSE #BSE #GreyMarket indianexpress.com/article/ex…

#ExpressInvestigation | Bihar has been dry for nearly a decade, but its drug problem is growing. An investigation by The Indian Express looks at the changing narcotics market, the rise in drug cases and what it means for a state already under pressure from addiction and limited treatment facilities. #ExpressInvestigation | For the first time in 3 years, defence PSU Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) has issued a single tender for optical sights to a private company set up by its former CMD Siddharth Mishra and his wife. The Rs 56.8-crore tender to Aindri Defence Advisory raises questions over conflict of interest and propriety, with the company having cleared the technical evaluation and its financial bid now under evaluation. 🔗 indianexpress.com/article/ex… Written by: Pratyush Deep

My wife had ordered something from a prominent e-commerce company. The delivery was happening yesterday. The e-commerce company has tie-up with delivery start-up for that. When the delivery guy was trying to call my wife again and again, after eighth call, she told “kahan hai tu”. This seems to have triggered that delivery chap. When he arrived at my location, he started hitting my wife. I have CCTV recording of it. My guard and neighbour intervened to save my wife. And while leaving delivery guy threatened: “Mai toh local hu. Tu yahin rahegi. Kabhi toh bahar niklegi, Mai Dekhlunga.” My wife tried to make SOS call to delivery company for 3 hours after that. And every time it was transferred to AI agent. For now my wife has registered a complaint against the e-commerce company, the delivery company and the delivery person at Maidan Garhi PS, New Delhi. Hope @DelhiPolice acts on it on priority basis. Women safety can’t be delayed. Also I expect timely intervention from all companies involved in this.

9 years after its rollout in July 2017, #GST is set to see a major overhaul—removal of arrest powers. Concerns over overreach by taxmen have been there, preceding even the rollout. Proposal will be discussed in the Oct 7 GST Council meeting. My report in today's @IndianExpress
