Considering Castlevania was never 1 explicit gameplay style (as seen with Classicvania's, IGAvania's/Metroidvania's, the 3D games, Lords of Shadow and whatnot), dunno why you need to be so dour on it at all. The game is doing its own thing (as all the others did)
Unfortunately CV looks to be a permanent skinsuit series. Even if the new game has things worth praising (I have no opinion yet), success means whatever Belmont's Curse is, is now what Castlevania is and all the old games are bad and outdated to the extent they are different.

The Shellcracker has a fist that is covered in spikes, it makes sense you can''t spindash into it from the front, the fact you could on Genesis, was a oversight that was corrected on Mobile and Origins.
Played Sonic 2 a hundred times but never knew in the original version that you can spin-dash into the Crabmeat badnik without taking damage (you can also drop-dash into them without getting hit). Whereas in Sonic Origins you do take damage. Huh... #sonic2 #sonicthehedgehog2 #metropolis #crabmeat #zone #sonic #spindash

This wasn't even a puzzle in the original game if you had Din's Fire or Fire Arrows, as you could just ingore the "puzzle" and move right along by getting next to the switch and Din's Fire it (or with Fire Arrows, not even need to time being in front of the torch).

Gaming is a luxury, not a requirement, DLC isn't mandatory to enjoy the game either. If a game is too expensive for ya, find others, there are cheaper options out there
I’m hyped for the game and all, I’m a fan of the series. Hell, I defend Nintendo often… but I’ve been calling this shit out as well for years. These prices, no regional adjustments and higher prices for physicals will not thrive for long, GTA 6 included. xitter.cf/stgshmups/status/17651…

Of the guest characters, Ken and Chun-Li were SNK's end of the Capcom and SNK collab between CotW and Street Fighter 6, Kenshiro is basically from a well known Fighting anime, Tokyo Revengers is pretty new, fair and Tekken was kind of a delayed payoff from the Tekken 7 Collab...

This is not accounting Ronado nor Salvator in the base roster btw. So that is 8 characters out of a (checks notes) currently 35 character roster, unless you want to say Art of Fighting (the prequel sister series) to Fatal Fury is also a guest series? xitter.cf/TOKUNATSU03/status/210…

It's been cheaper, however, with the DLC (and the upcoming Year 2 DLC), the game's gonna soar right past World's price tag again
#SonicRacingCrossworlds is NOW cheaper than Mario Kart World by the way.

The Digital Art Compendium was censored in 2015 last I checked (unless you have the proof the fanart section was always a part of that somehow)
Replying to @kenshirotism
It legit went from "We're censoring the game to remove panty shots" to "We removed showing Big Band being beaten by corrupt cops." Then it went to censoring the art book. Bit by bit it creeped to what you're dealing with now. And for what? A competitive scene? Full of peds?

The thing these people fail to understand is quite simple, there was a more minor but still noticeable censorship patch, in April 2015 which some of those unused animations were removed from the Digital Art Compendium then and not in 2023.
Ill never get over still when this started happening the amount of people being like "oh well its not a big deal the game is still there" "you just want to goon" "you probably have less than 20 hours" If it wasnt a big deal why remove any of it?

Friendly reminder the original devs also removed fanservice as well (as Filia had an unused animation that had Samson have at her shirt), but people like this tend to ignore that in favor of the 2023 revision round instead, even though a chunk of the devs, were there then as well
The current devs shamed the original fans for finding the chars they made minors AFTER sexualizing them in their animations hot instead of retconning them and making everyone happy. Every attempt to sanitize this game has been misguided n' idiotic when better options existed

The actual music for the level being referenced (the Carnival levels in Bubsy 1) sound much worse on the Genesis than they ever did on SNES, add the fact the "Proto" music, is actually from an older proto than the one fans seem to like (which was also used on that old PC thing)
It’s been over 4 years now, but man I’m still not over the Sonic 3 replacement music in Sonic Origins. It’s not AWFUL or anything, but the Sonic games always represented the best music the Genesis had to offer. These sound like they belong in Bubsy or something. See what I mean:

Let's see, 2nd point is a case of the original game solely relying on the 360 itself to produce slowdown (so in basic terms, Cave never had the foresight to program in slowdown) and as for that third point, this was telegraphed for a while on the store pages (especially Steam's).
Info from MMP!/Pink Sweets Boosted release: -More slowdown than PCB -Arrange modes have no slowdown. (Not good.) -Xbox360 Arrange OST removed. (!?) -Input lag feels good. -Widgets are good, can turn them off. -No Replay Download (!) -PS4 peripherals not supported on PS5.

No it hasn't, Mario Kart World has only been out for 1 year and 3 months, Mario Kart 8 (from WiiU to Switch and all DLC inbetween) had been around for 14 years, World is still getting active support, 8 is effectively done. Also, let's be real, the only reason for hate is routes.

What's funnier about this completely bunk claim by the way, if you zoom into other parts of the same image (as one IceFairy did elsewhere) it doesn't trigger the SynthAI at all, so clearly, it is at best a false positive and at worst, y'all need a better detection method

The translators work for THCRAP, a fan patch community that had been doing this work for 20+ years for no pay, I would think similarly, the people that made the Decomp wouldn't mind at all that their work helped make this new version possible, its always the clout chasers I swear
Yeah, I feal like people should focus on the treatment towards the translators as well as not crediting for having used the touhou 6 decompilation for the code

Why would it say rent? Are we returning them after a set period? Should we change it to renting a car because law enforcement can impound it possibly? Are you yelling at Xbox, Nintendo, and Steam to do the same because their license are also revocable? What about physical discs at Best Buy? We changing those to rent as well as they're revocable license.

@Baust528 Oh, right, I forgot to mention this a few days back, Super Bomberman: Panic Bomber W recently got a new English Localization via the Super Bomberman Collection via free update, which will be just included on most of the physicals (minus Switch)

@Baust528 Oh, before I forget, PC-Engine Valis was worked on by Riot (one of Telenet Japan's branches), Famicom Valis was Telenet Japan themselves and for home Computer Valis 2, Reno (Renovation Games, another of Telenet Japan's branches).

@Baust528 To explain things a bit more simple on the Valis 1 things, Wolf Team was only contracted at the time to make the early home computer ports of Valis 1, as for Valis 2 MSX 2, Reno's name is all over the thing (if judging by the PC-88 version).

Nothing screams "basic port" like getting 2 of its OG composers back for new songs and getting the artist back for new key art and in game assets, oh wait, that's not how this works at all. Its become clear you don't know what a "basic port" actually is considering Lunar and...
A straight up port like this should be put into a collection, just like they did with Collection of Mana, SaGa, Lunar, Suikoden, etc. If it's a remake, then it's ok to release it on its own - just like they did with Quintet's own Actraiser Renaissance and other SE titles like Star Ocean 2 R, Live A Live and Romancing SaGa 2 But releasing a port on it's own like this sets a bad precedent - especially when it's part of a larger trilogy. I mean, it doesn't even have widescreen support. A classic like Terranigma deserves better than this.
