🔎🚨⚖️ AVM has just filed a formal complaint w the Senate Ethics Committee calling for an investigation into Sen. Durbin’s underhanded pattern of strong-arming FDA vaping policy. Political intimidation against what must be an impartial, scientific process must stop immediately.

Vaping is a safer & healthier alternative to smoking, public health groups—including the FDA and the CDC—say. But 3 liberal nonprofits that claim to be devoted to public health are bankrolling a campaign to ban vape products in the U.S. Via @SaysSimonson freebeacon.com/latest-news/h…

Let’s imagine that @FDATobacco Director Brian King finally grants an interview — not with a handpicked reporter but with *you*. What would be the top question you’d put to him? Answer in the replies. We’ll start. THREAD 🪡 xitter.cf/GregTHR/status/1565367…
It has now been 60 days since Brian King took over @FDATobacco. With the exception of FDA press releases, the public has not heard one word from him.

Here we have @American_Heart researchers lumping 41 vapers into a cohort with 2,000+ smokers in order to further smear an activity they personally hate. Read Greg's thread. Then ask @FDATobacco why they fund this junk, and @PLOSONE why they publish it.

Years ago, tobacco control actually killed bills in Michigan to impose 18+ sales restrictions simply because those bills did not include massive new onerous taxes. I wrote about it in 2018, as the industry led the effort to prevent sales to minors. washingtonexaminer.com/opini…
I have not read the final bills for any late-breaking amendments, but from what I saw, these were clean bills.

FDA vs. millions of adults who want a product and face no criminal penalties for finding a market to serve them. I think I know who I'm taking in this bet.

Talking about the significance of the arrival of #SaferNicotine products, after reviewing the evidence in 2015, former @WHO cabinet director, Derek Yach (@swimdaily) says: "We'd never before had a technology opportunity to bring the deaths down." #vaping #snus #heatedtobacco

You've got about a week to support AVM's request for FDA enforcement discretion on bottled synthetic nicotine e-liquids. It takes about 20 seconds to do if you use the CASAA call to action linked in the article.

Governor Polis opposed a flavor ban earlier this year. 👍
Coloradans do not want politicians making their healthcare decisions. We will continue to choose freedom, stand against government control over our bodies, and will not retreat to an archaic era where the powerful few controlled the freedoms over our bodies and health decisions.

Note to the Biden Administration: You can't ban addictive substances and say you support harm reduction. All you're doing is driving Juul users back to smoking or to a more dangerous illicit market.
Soooo send many #vape users to the illicit market of contaminated products instead, where people don’t know what’s in them, which was what caused those lung injuries a few years ago? And possibly other ppl back to combustible #cigarettes? Because banning substances works so well.

As they told retailers yesterday, Juul plans to appeal. Nothing yet about the future status of products on shelves today. juullabs.com/statement-by-ju…

Worth reiterating. The stated basis for the JUUL denials relates to the toxicological profiles of the product. The same agency authorized combustible cigarettes which you light on fire and inhale as being "appropriate for the protection of public health," according to FDA.
The FDA's manufactured reasons for denying the PMTAs are complete nonsense. They authorized IQOS and VLNCs, both of which obviously have worse tox profiles than a Juul. FDA is also ordering immediate removal of the products. My initial thought is Juul needs to file suit today.

I've repeated this story too many times, but when DeSantis was faced with a bill with a late amendment that would've amounted to a vape flavor ban, he bucked his Republican AG, most elected Republicans, and tobacco industry GOP donors and vetoed it.
