The President of @ADCStweets Rachael Wardell is not telling the truth when she says that Tribunals don't have to consider resources or alternative provision in SEND Tribunals.
She is also not telling the truth about parents not having to consider the cost of transport when naming a school in an EHCP and that the cost will be picked up by the public purse. Speech here adcs.org.uk/ncasc-presidents…

New transport survey for 16-19 year olds has launched! 📝
Transport to school and college is a hot topic – and under HUGE scrutiny, with the National Audit Office releasing a report at the end of October and the Public Accounts Committee (a body of MP’s tasked with scrutiny of public spending) carrying out an Inquiry now.
We’ve launched a short survey to find out more about transport for 16-19 year olds in England so that we can represent families’ experiences in our submission to the Inquiry, giving robust and up to date evidence.

When Georgia Gould was leader of Camden, the LA used a notoriously thuggish outfit for its SEND Tribunal casework, Baker Small Legal Services
During Gould's tenure, Camden paid Baker Small over £1.2m, according to the council's own payments data
Former Camden Council leader, Georgia Gould MP, has replaced Catherine McKinnell as Schools Minister after the resignation of Ms McKinnell. Right on cue for a SEND minister, just before a massive reform.

The Chancellor has confirmed there will be a schools white paper in autumn, which will include the Govt's plans for SEND reform. Constant rumours and speculation about what reform might look like is hugely unsettling for families. We urge the Govt to be clear on its intentions.

SEND tribunal judges told their services are no longer needed. For disabled, Deaf & neurodivergent children they are the only means of accountability and redress in a system that prevents resources reaching them to support them to learn. What's going on? lawgazette.co.uk/news/govern…

No matter how the DfE and its cherry picked advisors spin this, the truth is this move is attractive because it removes legal rights from the vast majority of SEND kids. LAs/schools will be able to act with inpunity & parents will have no recourse schoolsweek.co.uk/ehcp-shake…

Inquiry to look at ‘huge task’ of special educational needs reform in England theguardian.com/politics/202…
This article really does get to the heart of the problems families of profoundly autistic children face as a result of campaigning by those with milder forms.
"...talk of increased diversity and inclusion should not overshadow the plight of children with more severe conditions...tales of progress...miss a larger, grimmer picture. For many, stigma and abuse is still at truly dangerous levels."
