We are proud to announce that AUB’s Suliman S. Olayan School of Business (OSB) will assume the presidency of the MENA Business Schools Alliance for Sustainability (MEBAS). Following the Executive Committee’s endorsement, Dean Yusuf Sidani will serve as President and Dean Mohamed Madi of UAE University serving as Vice President. We extend our appreciation to MEBAS’s founding leadership at Qatar University’s College of Business and Economics and all member institutions for their contributions to building this regional alliance. As a cofounding institution of MEBAS, OSB looks forward to building on the alliance’s strong foundation and advancing collaboration, sustainability, and responsible management education across the MENA region. #AUB #OSB #MEBAS #Sustainability #BusinessEducation

Neal Jacques Harb joined AUB this fall, continuing a remarkable family legacy that spans three generations. His maternal grandfather, the late Philippe Nasrallah (BA General ’46), was a chemist and a dedicated supporter of AUB. Together with Emily, he raised a family with strong ties to the university, with three of their children later graduating from AUB, including Neal’s mother, Mona. Neal’s maternal grandmother, the late Emily Abi-Rashed Nasrallah (BA ’58), was an acclaimed novelist, journalist, educator, and women’s rights activist. Her distinguished literary career included numerous novels, children’s books, short story collections, and international honors, including the Goethe Medal and Lebanon’s National Cedar Medal of Honor, Commander Rank. His father, Dr. Jacques Harb (Former Student 1984-89) is professor and dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU). With more than 24 years of experience in teaching, research, and industry, he has built a distinguished career in civil and environmental engineering. His mother, Dr. Mona Philippe Nasrallah (MD ’95), is a professor at AUB and head of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at AUBMC. An accomplished physician, educator, and researcher, she has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles and received several awards, including the Gold Humanism Award in 2021. Neal’s parents and grandparents are remarkable AUB alumni who reflect a deep commitment to education and to opening doors for others. Today, Neal carries their family legacy forward as he begins his own journey at AUB. Welcome to the AUB family, Neal! We look forward to seeing you write your own chapter 💫
