Die Hard is a very conservative movie, but it’s also one of the best action movies of all time. Attack of the Clones has a lot of great messages about manufactured consent for wars and the slippery slope to authoritarianism, but man that movie is a hot fucking trash fire.
Challenge: Name one piece of media that you like but has a political/social message that you disagree with. Then name a piece of media that you dislike but has a message you *do* agree with.

peaceful protests in minnesota literally forced ICE out of minneapolis and made trump stop his tactic of having ICE plague a city. minneapolis saved countless other cities from having to bear what it did. setting buildings on fire isn't protesting, it's being a piece of shit
America doesn't have a revolutionary culture, it's just a LARP. People in France set buildings on fire over a 1% tax increase while Americans just kinda watch as the state abducts people off the street.

It's always funny how they do this only one way. Good IPEV for Dems is just vote cannibalization, but good IPEV for Republicans is a firewall. Pure hack analysis. Meanwhile, they have the basic problem Trump is 25 points underwater and that's a persuasion problem.
Dems being up in early IPEV doesn’t mean much other than that they’re reshuffling the chairs on the Titanic given mail is way down and also far redder. IPEV also tends to redden as the days go on, and E-Day is slated to be redder, even if less compared to the past.

If Democrats had an incumbent president that was 25 points underwater, yeah, maybe they'd be at risk in Colorado. But that's not what's going on.
If Democrats can win Iowa, Republicans can win Colorado. Fair?

Do we? Who is even the center right? Robert Kennedy is HHS secretary and Susan Collins voted for him. I don’t think the next Dem president is having Ben Crump as AG.
You often see center-rightists speak out against the conspiracies of the chud right (vaccines) but never, ever see center leftists denounce these insane blood libels that take hold of the Democratic base.

The settlers are so fucking nuts. I've said this before but it's legitimately like an insane social experiment where hellenistic age sheep herders and religious extremists are being brought to live in the modern age except they're also backed by a nuclear power

Good read by Iowan @mrddmia on the stakes of Iowa's upcoming Attorney General Election. AG Bird has what it takes to defend Iowans. It is not clear her opponent even understands what the job requires

Yah, if you aren’t against Elon at this point. You’re anti-Texan. Elon wants steal all this state has to offer for himself. Vote Talarico and (I thought I’d never say this) vote Hinijosa against Abbott. He’s going to say he’ll deal with this in the next session but it never happens.

Republicans have literally been in power in Texas for the past 30 years. They have no answers to the problems THEY have created. Also, if you think an actor is going to influence me to vote for them you have no idea who I am lmaoooo
Replying to @mavsmarie
Marie please do your own research on what the candidates value. Please, please don’t let a celebrity endorsement influence you. There’s a reason Californians flee to Texas. The Republicans may not be the answer to all your problems but the Dems are def the cause of them.

The opening salvo in the mass denial about the party's future that anti Trump conservatives will be engaged in for the next two years. This foolishness we have a GOP senator who did nothing but glaze Trump's cock for a decade saying we need to investigate his ties to Putin

Certainly aren’t losing patience with our money, diplomatic support, or the blood of our servicemen. Don’t be entitled.
Or why Israelis are losing patience with many American Jews. Israel’s kids are fighting, dying, loving, marrying and raising families in an expanding vibrant population. They have learned bitterly the lessons of delusion and the wages of complacence. A lot of American Jews get it. A lot. But perhaps those specific finger-wagging self-righteous young American Jews who feel inconvenienced by their cousins’ fight for survival ought to pause and reflect for a moment in between their double-soy lattes and vegan burgers and instead spend more time understanding and appreciating Israelis for sacrificing so much for the survival of the Jewish people rather than admonishing them. They are the future of the Jewish people.

You know, this would be immensely tasteless and ugly even in a protestant context where you don't think your pastor is God's special envoy to boss the church around.

The Insurrection Act is in fact the trigger to pull off their coup. Their entire purpose in 2027 will be to cause enough chaos provoke Trump into using the Insurrection Act. Then a bunch of coordinated responses will kick off, and the intended effect will be to put America governance itself on trial for 2028 and rewrite the Constitution.

I am always confused by anecdotes like this. Are there substantial sums of people who don't look up how long a journey will be before they start driving? No directions, just "i want to go south, i reckon it'll take 6 hours or so?"

The funniest part about this tweet is that Winnetka Illinois is *currently* 88% white, significantly whiter than the U.S. as a whole was in 1992 when this movie came out
