Govt at all levels wallow in bad governance, poor judgement, and continue to be apathetic to issues that daily cause untold and unnecessary hardship to the people, simply because the Govt and its appointees are insulated from the consequences of their actions and inactions.

Jason Statham's last movie had his worst opening weekend in 18 years. The one in this trailer had already cost Amazon more than $50 million before anybody bought a ticket.
And that $50 million doesn't even pay for the movie. It only buys Amazon the right to put it in theaters. The entire first Beekeeper cost $40 million to make.
So why would anyone pay that?
Because the first one was a monster. It came out in January 2024, which is usually where studios dump the movies they don't believe in. It opened to $16 million and then just refused to leave theaters. By the end it had done $162.6 million worldwide, about four times what it cost, for a movie where Statham plays a retired assassin who keeps bees and really, really hates phone scammers.
Amazon only had that first one in North America. So it got to sit there and watch almost $100 million in overseas ticket sales go to other companies.
They weren't letting that happen twice. Amazon locked up the whole world for the sequel months before cameras rolled, and now it's putting the movie out only in theaters, on the same MLK weekend as the original, three years later.
Now the flop. Shelter came out this January with Statham playing, you guessed it, another former assassin. It opened to $5.5 million on a $50 million budget. A Working Man had opened to $15 million the year before. Same guy doing the same kind of movie, and people just didn't show up.
My read is that audiences have watched Statham play the quiet retired killer a dozen times, and they only get excited when the quiet retired killer is someone they already know. Adam Clay is a guy they already paid to watch once, and that's what Amazon is spending the money on.
The trailer knows exactly what it's selling. Jeremy Irons hands him a 1969 Dodge Super Bee with a machine gun on it. The Beekeepers, the secret program that made him, have gone rogue and are going after the president. There's a moment where a guy comes at him with a flamethrower, and Clay ducks under it, grabs it, and turns it right back on him.
They also brought in Timo Tjahjanto to direct. If you've never seen his movie The Night Comes for Us, it's basically two hours of testing how much violence an R rating can survive.
For years January was where studios buried movies like this, and Amazon just paid more than $50 million to plant one there on purpose.

I was at the #Texcellence 5.0 conference today, and they asked why government doesn't organise its IT to prioritise citizen convenience. I explained that Ministries are organised vertically while citizens engage with government horizontally.
You need to have an IT Czar that can say No to Ministries and ensure that citizens engage with ‘One Government.’ That is what Singapore, Estonia, Rwanda and the UK have done.
Without that Ministries will continue to procure disparate systems and get the corrupt benefits from awarding the contracts. Citizens will continue to be frustrated.
Oh! I also said that I didn’t see why INEC should continue to issue voter cards when 136 million Nigerians already have NIN. The INEC database only has 103 million records verified with fingerprint and facial recognition technology. NIN, on the other hand, additionally captures your face, your ten fingerprints, and the iris of your eyes.
We don’t know whether INEC’s 103m are in NIMC’s 136m. We should not be in that situation.
By law, @nimc_ng is also the only custodian of root identity data in Nigeria. Why do people who have NINs have to queue up for “Continuous Voter Registration” that is anything but continuous?
