Category 4 Hurricane Simon continues to inch closer to the coast This evening. Simon is expected to bring life threatening Winds, storm surge and flash flooding to west Central Mexico. Hurricane Warning are in effect from Punta San Telmo to El Roblito. Preparations to protect life and property should be rushed to completion. A recon mission is coming to better assess Simon's intensity.

Hurricane Polo has begun a period of breakneck, explosive intensification, with maximum sustained winds of 80 kts (90mph or 145kph) and a minimum central pressure of 971 mb as of the 22z advisory. The hurricane is currently located over 31 °C sea surface temperatures and 150+ TCHP units, and is within a large-scale environment featuring very low wind shear (5-10kt) in the center of a large upper-level anticyclone with triple outflow channels. Continued explosive intensification to category 5 is expected officially up to 145kt (165mph or 265kph), with a nonzero chance of becoming one of the stronger Eastern Pacific hurricanes in the historical record. The hurricane is expected to remain in incredibly favorable conditions for the next 72-96 hours before beginning a slow weakening trend southwest of Jalisco, as vertical wind shear increases and the core likely becomes larger due to a couple of eyewall replacement cycles. The hurricane may pose a long-term risk to Baja California and other areas of Northwest Mexico.

After cross checking sources, the Faytuks Weather Network has confirmed that this is the first ever Tornado Watch in Hawaii, and also makes history as the first ever non-continental United States Tornado Watch.

Moderate risk for parts of Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota, this will include the potential for a Derecho with winds up to 100 mph. There is also a chance for a tornado or two, particularly across Missouri and Arkansas. A PDS (Particularly Dangerous Situation) Severe Thunderstorm Watch has also been issued to highlight the significant wind threat. The watch covers parts of North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana.
