Mothin Ali – apology and Correction
On 18 July 2024, I published a post on my X account in which I stated that Mr Mothin Ali, an elected official and Deputy Leader of the Green Party, was involved in the Harehills riots of July 2024 in which people attacked the police.
That statement was incorrect. In fact, Mr Ali was asked by the police to use his position of trust in the community to help bring about peace on the streets. Mr Ali attended the scene for that purpose alone. He was not involved in the disorder or violence in any way, and on the contrary he was one of the principal reasons of bringing an end to the disorder. I offer my sincere apologies to Mr Ali for my post, the harm I caused, and I have agreed to pay him compensation to vindicate his reputation.
Worth another look at this to remind ourselves what’s currently at stake. Would suggest @RhonddaBryant especially watches it

Explained here @City_Chief
There are an awful lot of people that should be tendering their resignations as a result of what is happening and what will happen in portadown. Starting with the chief Constable of the PSNI

If there’s no paracetamol at 2 a.m, start with lukewarm-water sponging.
Dip a clean cloth in lukewarm water, wring it out and repeatedly wipe the neck, armpits, chest, back, groin/inner thighs, arms and legs. Don’t just leave one wet cloth on the forehead...the aim is to cool a larger area of skin. Re-wet it as it warms and stop if shivering begins.
Remove heavy clothing and blankets, keep the room comfortably cool and give frequent sips of water or ORS. Let them rest and check the temperature again after 30-60 minutes.
Avoid ice-cold water, ice packs and alcohol rubs. Seek urgent help if the person becomes confused, breathless, has a seizure or is rapidly worsening.

This is clearly a campaign. Twelve months ago, no one was talking 'weaning' us off a pension we already paid for. Now there's an article or TV prog every day.
'Independent journalists.'

BREAKING: EVERY scheduled opening act on Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour has now withdrawn after Macklemore was dropped over his pro-Palestinian remarks.
Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham and Finneas have all pulled out, while Sheeran’s touring band Beoga has also quit. Each cited solidarity with Macklemore, Palestinians, or opposition to artists being silenced.

Mail. Telegraph. Express … a political leader they have been campaigning to get in power is to be interviewed by police over corruption allegations. Not a word on their front pages. (Sun not on display at local shop so don’t know about them!) This is the real two tier Britain, the media double standards
What is going on @BBCNews Angela Raynor paid the wrong stamp duty and you were on her like a dog with bone. Farage is on film accepting massive illegal overseas payments and you look the other way. WHY am I paying a licence fee for this rubbish?

New campaign: demand cinemas worldwide refuse to screen the new Ali G film.
Sacha Baron Cohen retired Ali G in 2007. Amazon has revived him. On 23 October, Ali G: Who Iz I? opens in cinemas worldwide, and Sony Pictures is selling it to the public with the line "He iz back. We ain't liable."
The distributor is joking about liability. But the screens belong to the cinemas, and a booking is a choice.
In January 2000, the Guardian reported the verdict of Black British comedians under the headline "Comics find Ali G is an alibi for racism". Felix Dexter said the act lets "the liberal middle classes laugh at black street culture" while keeping their sense of political correctness.
The catalogue behind it hurt community after community. The Kazakh American Association told Amazon that in Borat "a white person adorns a Kazakh persona" and belittles everything Kazakhs stand for. Kazakh children were bullied at school off the back of the joke.
On The Dictator, Jack Shaheen said "Arabs are being ridiculed again and again and again", and Dean Obeidallah called it a "modern-day minstrel show".
Studios sell films. Cinemas choose them. No film is owed a screen.
So we've created a campaign where you can voice your opinion to the cinemas.
One click sends up to 20 personalised letters in your name to the booking desks of Odeon, Cineworld, Regal, Vue, Everyman, Picturehouse, Showcase, Cinemark, Harkins, B&B, Landmark, Cineplex, Event, Kinepolis, VOX, Reel, Pathé, CinemaxX, Cinépolis, Cinemex and Nordisk Film.
Every address is verified on the chain's own website.
Non-English chains get the letter in their own language.
You read every letter before it is sent. The chains decide their bookings in the next eight weeks.
Ask them to refuse this one: newscord.org/action/cinemas-…

.@reformparty_uk is constantly in the news for dodgy donations; the secret £5m from a Crypto dude, the criminal investigation into millions more in ‘masked’ donations - today it’s unlicensed gambling and Reform's two biggest donors. So what on earth was @nadhimzahawi thinking when he went on @GMB the other day and claimed that I funded @CountBinface's Clacton campaign - to the very specific tune of £180k. I mean first it’s a tiny drop in Reform’s dirty ocean. But most vexing, it’s an entirely false claim, based on nothing as far as I can see, just a convenient fantasy. God knows why @nadhimzahawi thought this fantasy might help cover Farage’s Clacton blushes - I mean he struggled to beat a Bin (no offence to the Count). But here’s the thing - if Reform happily make up shit like this, what else are they claiming that is simply, totally untrue. @itvnews carried the original claims and set out a correction today - have to say it was a bit half hearted.

Fast everywhere… except on the green?
According to Korn Ferry Tour pace-of-play data, not a single player fit that profile.
0 out of 147 players were among the fastest 25% off the tee, on approach, and around the green—but in the slowest 25% on the greens.
The data suggests something simple: players don’t suddenly become slow once they reach the putting green. Fast players tend to stay fast throughout the hole.
The idea that putting is where “slow play starts” isn’t supported by the data.
