Stop, just stop. Enough already. Apparently winning isn’t enough anymore. Bo Nix and the @Broncos weren’t perfect but they still won the game. Winning in the NFL is hard. Enjoy it. #BroncosCountry

With our blowtorch start to October, it's now a near-lock that 2026 will finish as both Colorado's and Denver's hottest years on record. #COwx
This is both Colorado’s and Denver’s hottest start to a year on record (Jan-Sept), and it’s not even close. Statewide temps so far in 2026 are 1.6° warmer than 2012, a blowout for warmest year-to-date on record. The influence of a warming climate is clear on the chart below.

Replying to @NASAWatch
Obviously, this all came from an internal memo, though I fully expect those to always find their way into the public domain. In any case, I imagine the non-space media may not fully appreciate this, but for an Artemis III mission that did not really exist six months ago, with hardware coming together quickly in the VAB, test landers in production, the crew assigned and in training, and the most complex multi-launch campaign mission in history only 90 days broken to schedule, I thought the update would come across as confidence inspiring. There are opportunities to pull in the schedule and, of course, risks ahead, but those who know these programs should generally be very encouraged by the progress. I am incredibly proud of the NASA team and our partners. We intend to provide an Artemis update, similar to the Moon Base updates, in early October.

Squirrels on suicide missions have knocked out power to Castle Rock, Colorado twice this week. Our investigation has revealed a century of squirrel attacks covered up by the pro-squirrel media.

Raeden, the California-based company that wants to build the data center, says their project will create jobs and drive economic development in the city. The company has undertaken many noise mitigation efforts but residents don't believe they will work.

The community has a multitude of concerns, but chief among them is noise. At issue is the use of DbA metrics versus DbC. The former is better at measuring low frequency noise, which those opposed to the data center say will have an outsized impact on the area.

Project Taurus is a proposed data center that might be built in an old computer chip manufacturing building. It was formerly occupied by Intel and was built more than 50 years ago for Rockwell International.

More than 300 dogs helped search for survivors on 9/11. In fact, the last person rescued at ground zero was found by a search and rescue dog. The search was mentally and physically taxing on the dogs, who walked across huge piles of debris and smoldering rubble. As the days went by, dogs became sad when they were no longer finding people alive. So, to keep their spirits up, their handlers staged mock rescues. They would have people hide under debris for dogs to find. This boosted the dogs’ morale as they continued their work. In addition to rescue dogs, therapy dogs were brought to the scene to provide comfort to emotionally drained and traumatized police officers and firefighters. Dogs are the best thing in the world and we do not deserve them.

The death of local newspapers is a disaster that will really play out in the decades come to come, especially with declining media literacy. The thing here is that a lot of jabrones lump everyone in "The Media" together. "The Media" can technically consist of multi-million dollar ESPN takesman, a crime reporter from the Grand Forks Herald and an NFL podcaster. But the person covering crime or local politics for say the Lexington Herald-Leader isn't some CNN anchor making millions or some high-profile political columnist. It's almost always a regular Joe or Jane who lives in the community they cover and makes just enough to pay the bills. Sure, some online and independent sites will fill in some gaps. But if you are a young person and you see this, why on earth would you enter the local news profession given the annual drumbeat of layoffs and AI eventually covering some of this stuff? Smart young people will rightfully flee to anything safer, which is everything else. A disaster.
