One of my favourite shots from a few months ago. Biblical light over Bradford.

A cooler autumn morning in Brontë Country. Golden light and a distinct chill in the air.

Just 4 miles from Haworth (as the crow flies), Yorkshire’s largest boulder, the Hitching Stone marks the point where West Yorkshire meets North Yorkshire and Lancashire.

So now the last significant part of Grade II listed Dalton Mills in Keighley has succumbed to the 6th mysterious fire at the site in recent years.

A classic red telephone box in Heptonstall, remarkably still contains a working telephone. Hard to think now that this icon of the British landscape was generally considered to be an eyesore when it was first introduced in the 1930s.
A big thank you to the passing taxi driver...

It's Yorkshire Day and the heather is in bloom - It doesn't get much better than this!
I'll be celebrating later with pie & peas and pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord, followed by a slice of curd tart and a cup of Yorkshire Tea.
Happy Yorkshire Day.

30th July - Happy Wuthering Heights Day, the joint birthday of Emily Brontë and Kate Bush.
Top Withins, high on the moors above Haworth, is believed to have been Emily Brontë’s inspiration for the location of Wuthering Heights.

Another great fun day yesterday photographing Haworth’s annual Actually The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever - 500 Kate Bushes dancing on Penistone Hill to celebrate Kate’s and Emily Brontë’s joint birthday (30th July). The weather was appropriately wily and windy but it failed to dampen everyone’s spirits, as you can see 😁

Just back from visiting mum in Northamptonshire. Had a close look at this watercolour, which I did for her way back in 1995, for the first time in years. I know I keep saying it but I really must get painting again. 😁

Where better to watch the sun set than in the wonderful Rovinj, Croatia. Heavy Venetian influences here in the colourful architecture (Venice is a short distance across the Adriatic Sea) and the tower of St Euphemia’s Church is modelled on St Mark’s.

This must surely count as one of your five-a-day.
