Good evening, Che (The Genius) Let me clarify about your Father’s honorary rank. First, he got an Honorary Rank of Colonel. Under normal circumstances, an Honorary rank is given once. You cannot be promoted when you are holding an Honorary Rank. That is why the late Kategaya remained an Honorary Brigadier until his death, Hajji Most Kigongo is also Honorary Brigadier, Hon Butime is Honorary Colonel etc. It is only your Father Otafiire who bullied Mzee and secured a promotion to Major Gen ( even jumping Brigadier). Such a promotion is unprecedented anywhere in the world. I am told he has been quietly lobbying to be promoted to full General but I hear Mzee refused. Second, Otafiire only did the Officers’ Basic Course at Bombo Barracks in 1990. Such a course would only assist him to the active rank of second Lt or Lt! The military knowledge he has can only allow him to command a Platoon. His colleagues who hold active ranks( not Honorary Rank like him) went on to do senior Military courses at Kimaka( Gen Salim Saleh, Late Gen. Tumwiine, Gen @sejudav , Late Mayombo etc) or else where like late Aronda, Kale( USA), Tumukunde( Nigeria) etc. It is a complete lie for anyone to say Otafiire did any other formal military course other than the OBC. So, his understanding of military issues is quite limited. Even in the bush, Otafiire your Father was in the politcal wing, he never commanded even a section. He has never even been a member of the High Command. Let uncle @sejudav dispute what I have written about Otafiire.
