Did not expect a question that starts out 'Do you think before you speak?' to go so well. A+ question from Charlotte Harpur A++ response from Eileen Gu.
Classicists! It's just over a week until the annual AIA/SCS meeting, this time in San Francisco, and that means preparations are gearing up for the annual CAMP production. This year, CAMP is proud to present "Tantalids: take ii," under the direction of Vanessa Stovall!
There's so much to say about this innovative, shocking, and emotionally powerful production — but who could say some of this better than the brilliant dynamo behind this revival, Vanessa Stovall, whose recent SCS blog-post is well worth reading in full. classicalstudies.org/scs-blo…
I'll have more posts to share in the coming week about the show, but as folks make plans for the conference, make sure that TANTALIDS, THURSDAY 1/8, 7:30PM YOSEMITE, are part of them.
See you there and then!

It's official! My department, UNC Classics, is hiring for the Paddison Professor of Latin: unc.peopleadmin.com/postings…
I'm not on the search committee and don't have/can't give any inside information, but I'd be happy to field any general questions about the lovely NC Research Triangle area, campus culture, etc. I encourage every Latinist who thinks they might fit the description to apply!***

I am pleased to be able to share that NEH has funded a proposal to work on an edition of Aristotle's Poetics in Greek, Arabic and Latin.
Grateful to all who support humanistic inquiry — with their donations, tax dollars, words, actions, and other in-kind contributions!

I was so proud of my fearless students who starred in the debut of this intensive, Maymester course — few of whom had any previous dramatic experience. I'm also grateful to @UNCSummerSchool for this feature.
