.@RiddellSports is sitting on the best tackling tech in the game and keeping it relatively quiet.
These @RichieGrayGSI dummies and shields are the absolute best on the market.
From Little League to the NFL, these are essential for teaching technique and finish.
Every program in the country needs them!
If you are a coach, go talk to your rep.

“3-breath tackle”
One of my favorite @RichieGrayGSI -sims and a great coachism to visualize a dominant, physical tackle.
I think I’ve dropped this one at every clinic since 2017.

When a batter is “sitting fastball”, the change up gets him.
When a defender is threatened by movement (tippy-toe chops his feet, anticipating the cut) the truck move works best.
When D sits for power (rooting the feet, ready to explode) the reacceleration leaves them for dead.

Another example of getting in on the ball to keep BC from extending close to the line.
Also, insane work rate and pursuit.
Interestingly, last man getting turned inside-out actually bought the time for help to get there

Football coaches: just for fun.
Think about playing defense for 2:45 straight this close to your goal line and holding out….in a World Cup final no less.

Angle Path doesn’t have to mean Angle Tackle.
“Square is Strong” and get a good bite of the front side. Be Defender 2.
Also, realism: sometimes, when really overmatched with speed, or out leveraged by play, you will need to turn and run.

3, 4 and 6week Tackle Training plan.
I love idea of giving constraints that guide, build a progression but allow for specificity of individual needs (focus area or week point) and coaches position specific drill.
But if you are looking for new ideas or issue fixes- I know a guy.

Coach Kyle talks about how coaches need to understand their young players and try to get into their world while teaching them.
"The 10 year old is not a 21 year old. He's got his 10 year old world and you have to somehow as a coach get into that world a little bit."
