I'm building my followers as I transition from working in youth mental health to women's health advocacy. Personal exp. ADHD, endo, maternity. Broad interests across the sector. Writer, speaker, trainer/facilitator. Open to collaborations and new projects.
Yesterday I was excited to attend the press preview of 'Endometriosis: into the unknown' @vagina_museum. It was a wonderful exhibition in collaboration with amazing people @OxfordEndoCaRe . It was thought-provoking(go) and gave me lots of article ideas I need to find homes for!
I'm really excited to be attending the press preview of this, but still looking for a home for my pitch around it. Leads very welcome! #JournoRequest #Network #JournoFriends

Our exhibition Endometriosis: Into the Unknown opens this November. It will take you on a voyage of discovery from the basics of endometriosis to the cutting edge of research, exploring myths and the reality of living with the condition along the way. vaginamuseum.co.uk/currentexโฆ
#ADHD was only formally recognised in adults in 2008 in the UK. Of COURSE there has been an increase in diagnosis. Of COURSE that means there are more people on medication, but it doesn't have to mean a shortage. Preparedness should have countered that. That feels basic...
The irony of the medication fiasco and all of the subsequent negativity when we're only on day 12 of #ADHDAwarenessMonth is not lost on us...

Who can recommend a good first dictaphone that isn't wildly expensive but has good sound quality, please?
#FreelanceJournalists I have a press preview invite, what are the conventions around pitching a piece on it and claiming expenses from commissioning publication?
Time to try out Bluesky...I don't have many contacts here, as this account is pretty new, but feeling hopeful, for the sake of my freelance career... #JournoRequest #FreelanceWriter

Them: You don't look autistic
Me: You don't see it because my autism mostly affects me. I've spent most of my life minimizing the impact it has on others (for them, not for me)... and now you don't see it, but I feel it twice as much

Because of my family, I don't always work standard hours. This weekend I will be working on first drafts for a couple of very different kinds of pieces. Love the variety of #FreelanceJournalism!
#JournoRequest I've got a few #InvestigativeJournalism pieces possibly in the pipeline and would love to message a #Freelance investigative journo with a few questions I have. Someone hit me up? @gijn
Who do I need to be following/reading as I find my feet as a freelance health (esp. women and inequalities) writer? #FreelanceWriter #HealthWriter #Journalist
Added to my first press list today. That made me feel like a journalist! #FreelanceWriter #HealthWriter #Journalist
Just been on a massive article pitching sprint. One of the benefits of being a #FreelanceWriter is that I can take time off in the day to be with my family and then work when inspiration strikes around that! #HealthWriter
I feel that #endometriosis is slowly entering a more public discourse and that things have been slowly shifting since my own diagnosis in 2018. Many steps still to go, but important that some have also been taken! #WomensHealth
We are looking for some specific objects and stories for our upcoming #Endometriosis exhibition, as well as a few other items which you might be able to help us out with. Please fill out this form if you'd like to contribute any of the following... docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1Fโฆ
Between attending the @absw summer school in London (thanks for helping me up my writing game), announcing the closure of my youth mental health business and having a couple of bits published, percolating or pitched, this week feels like it's taken me in lots of directions. Phew!
My latest piece for @UptimizeTeam with whom I do consultancy on neuroinclusion and mental health. Love the work I do with this wonderful organisation, you should check them (and this article) out!
