@GenesHealth, Sam Hodgson, @Sarah_Finer & I are very pleased to share the 1st study using partitioned polygenic scores to understand age of T2D onset, GDM, lean T2D & 💊 response. All this in a south Asian cohort – typically under-represented in 🧬 research @QMUL_WIPH @QMUL_CEG
Great postdoc opportunity in @DPhaz lab @IMS_MRL working on an exciting collaborative project (jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/47744/ )⬇️
We are looking for a Postdoc to investigate novel genes that regulate insulin-stimulated glucose transport (tinyurl.com/ycarykzh). MRC-funded collaboration with O'Rahilly (@StephenORahilly) @IMS_MRL & Langenberg groups (QMUL).
Please RT.

Pleased to see our perspective piece out in @ScienceMagazine
Published along side the huge multi-ancestry GWAS effort in MVP from Verma et al (science.org/doi/10.1126/scie…), @SFatumo and I discuss the importance of increased diversity in genomic studies.
Excited to share our new perspective @ScienceMagazine
We highlight the need for broader representation in genomic research to ensure global health equity
The new MVP cohort shows progress with 29% non-EUR ancestry, but more efforts are needed in LMICs

How do we control our blood sugar after a meal or sugary drink?
A new study has found genetic clues to help explain how this process can break down and increase our risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Many people are on a path to T2D without knowing, as they are being missed by current screening guidelines - isolated impaired glucose tolerance (iIGT).
We identified a novel #proteomics test to help identify them.
