American companies came to Budapest this week with a clear message: they see real opportunity in Hungary.
The 11th U.S.-Hungary Business Council Economic Summit brought more than 40 delegates to Budapest, representing leading U.S. companies in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, finance, energy, defense, cybersecurity, and advanced technology.
Over several days of meetings with Hungarian government officials and business partners, the delegation exchanged views on the business environment, heard directly about opportunities and challenges in the Hungarian market, and strengthened relationships that underpin U.S.-Hungary commercial ties.

Az amerikai vállalatok ezen a héten egyértelmű üzenettel érkeztek Budapestre: valódi lehetőségeket látnak Magyarországban.

At a virtual roundtable with members of the American-Central European Business Association, Ambassador Roberts highlighted opportunities to deepen the commercial dimension of the 🇺🇸–🇸🇮 relationship. Key areas for expanded cooperation include defense and security, advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, energy, and digitalization. Strengthening relationships in these strategic sectors can create new opportunities for companies, drive innovation, and further reinforce the strong partnership between the United States and Slovenia.

One of my priorities as U.S. Ambassador has been a modernized U.S.-Croatia Double Taxation Treaty. At #3SI2026 today, I was proud to join @mfin_RH Finance Minister Coric in signing a protocol that represents major progress toward that goal. A new treaty would reduce barriers to investment, increase transparency, and unlock new opportunities for businesses on both sides of the Atlantic. Our U.S.-Croatia partnership continues to deliver real economic results.

This has been a historic Three Seas Initiative Summit! The United States and Croatia launched the Trump Peace Pipelines Framework, a U.S.-led initiative to develop new energy pipelines and infrastructure across Central and Eastern Europe. This effort will diversify gas supplies, reduce dependence on Russian energy, and strengthen regional stability. Thank you to @SecretaryWright for championing American energy leadership around the world. #3SI2026
.@SecretaryWright on the Trump "Peace Pipeline" agenda: "Where I’m standing right here in Croatia, these nations were at the end of Russian, Soviet Union energy systems. They were beholden to Russia. That's not a good place to be. What we’re doing here is expanding this pipeline network, so they can import oil and natural gas from the United States and then transport it among the nations in this region." 🇺🇸
