Delighted to have been interviewed, offered and accepted a substantive consultant clinical oncologist post at @WestonParkCC today.
Thank-you to everyone who has helped and supported me. It’s the culmination of 15 years hard work and I couldn’t be happier.

Delighted to have been awarded the exceptional contribution award by the @RCRadiologists today.
A lot of other people’s hard work went into the the projects I worked on - thank you to them all and to the college for a great day.
Oh and they made we wear a silly hat too…

Absolutely delighted to be elected as the first @UKLabour councillor for Penistone East since 1998.
The road to Westminster for Labour runs through villages likes ours in Penistone East.
The hard work starts tomorrow. Tonight I’m having fish and chips and a beer!

This is all lovely and a bit surreal but it’s important to say that the @NHSuk is full of hero doctors, nurses, physios, domestics and countless others who go above and beyond every day to keep our wonderful, unique, life changing NHS going.
It’s an honour to work alongside them

Next week I’ll be on strike and the media may paint junior doctors as lazy or uncommitted.
Today I couldn’t get the car out so I’ve walked the 14km to the tram. Many others will make similar journeys today to ensure good patient care.
We’re striking because we love the NHS.

My picket line chip delivery service was back today - out and about delivering chips to hungry nurses during my lunch break.
What do our nurses want?
Sacking: No
Clapping: Nice but won’t pay the bills
Fair pay: Yes
Hot chips: Also Yes.

Audrey Reedman in 1965 when she was a barmaid for Mary & Frank @ the Fleece, Gt Horton. She served my grandad who was a regular. She lived across the road on Union Rd. She earned 10 shillings for 10 hours a week & got 2 free beers a shift + a pkt of crisps or nuts @ABFixby

Credit where credit’s due. Got a cough yesterday and reported it via NHS online. Got offered a test a few miles away 25 minutes later and results back less than 24 hours later (negative). Our wonderful #ArmedForces were staffing the unit - thanks for all your hard work! #COVID19

At 8pm I’ll be clapping from my bedroom above the garage where I’ve been isolating away from my family for 5 days after being diagnosed with Coronavirus. It’s given me a huge respect for those living in small flats in the crises - I’ll be clapping for them tonight. #UnsungHeroes

As an NHS doctor it’s been inspiring to see people clapping every Thursday. Some key workers, however, don’t get the same recognition. I hope you’ll join me next Thursday in clapping for the shop workers, mechanics, farmers and many more. All are hero’s who deserve our support.

Visited the COVID ward today in preparation for manning our own COVID unit. The consultant said the people who’d made the real difference were the support staff - porters, ward clarks, cleaners. They’d put in extra shifts and hours to ensure the ward ran smoothly. #UnsungHeroes
