That he doesn't, is the point. He/The APL have no obligation to do so. That's what we have done - given away the AL to a private company. Eventually, this will resonate. Last week's game brought it into focus.

As reality sets in after our annual weekend release, post Garriock and Rosich it feels like we're now firmly back under lock and key. I hope we all thanked our jailers for our fun day out. If we behave, we'll get another play date next year. Let's understand our power to act.

Good to see the discussion on this widening and deepening. The clubs through @AAFClubs have included their analysis on this in their 2022 report on the NSD. It got to the launch pad before it was stalled by nonsense criteria. Time for the re-launch. @MattyWindley

A-League Women.. invisibility | Sam Lewis theguardian.com/football/202… The problem @battledinosaur is that we built our women's game at Matildas level. It doesn't translate down. 🇦🇺 Men's ⚽️ is similar but it exists at club level. WWC legacy nonsense is now apparent. And private, for profit owners don't care for it. It makes a loss, so why shoul they? The commercial success of club football depends on clubs being loved by fans, because fans follow clubs, not players. As for the Matildas, naturally, and in a positive development for the game and women worldwide, our early mover advantage is gone now that it is taking off in ⚽️ countries. We'll drop to our real relative level. Let's focus on our women's ⚽️ at local and national club level, and give it time. And take it away from for-profit operators.
