One of the underrated benefits of being part of a large broadcasting family is the ability to help each other out.
Last week, @12NewsNow was forced to leave their building due to flooding from #Imelda.
A few staff members from @9NEWS were part of that crew, and came away deeply impressed by the commitment shown by everyone to help out our sister stations whenever they need it.
Thank you to @wfaa for being great hosts, and amazing job by everyone at @12NewsNow getting back into your home building so quickly!
Like we said yesterday, every time.

Want to know what's adorable? @9NEWS is replacing the phone system tomorrow, and @Kim9news is sitting at her desk recording years-old voicemails that her son left when he was little. She's the cutest.
“What were they rehearsing?” some of you have asked...

Weren’t awake at 430am? We can’t really blame you there, but don’t worry! You can still see our special “Breaking News” online.
We want to show you who we are, why we care about news, and the work we put into every story we cover.

"We have a duty to our local community"
That is at the core of what every local journalist does. Not promote an ideal or sell an angle.
To provide the truth to the community we all live in.
The first step in rebuilding trust is transparency. Let us show you who we really are.
With every jump in technology has come distrust of the news outlets using it. News legend Edward R. Murrow saw it as TV moved into radio's domain. We see it today on social media.
The one thing that has remained constant is that trust needs to be earned. This the first step.
Local news operations are accused of lying to the community on a daily basis.
How can we convince you we don't and never would?
It starts by reminding you that we are a part of that community too.
"Breaking News" shows you how we operate, but more importantly shows you who we are
