"It's going to be fun like back in the days when all you had was a cheap bottle of rum & an acoustic guitar. It's going to be a little crazy. We're going to create a tribal state where we're all the same & people forget what they're wearing."@MiamiNewTimes miaminewtimes.com/music/thin…

“While he showcases the power of blending African American and Afro-Cuban music, Cimafunk is also engaging in a cultural mixing that celebrates a kind of Latin American hybridity, on his terms. He sees himself as part of a new generation to bring change.” nytimes.com/2021/10/06/arts/…

“You might not know who Cimafunk is, but they’re going to change your life. The Cuba-based singer’s River stage set with his expansive band was nothing short of a religious experience. Transfixing and transformative, you left feeling like a completely different person.”

“@george_clinton joined @CimafunkOficial on a musical journey through the intersection of Latin & Funk. ‘Funk Aspirin’ is an absolute banger & the video gives off all the house party—both the actual thing & the movie—vibes that one could need.” @TheRoot theroot.com/mic-drop-gotta-h…

If it wants, Biden admin can walk & chew gum at same time: express support for protesters & condemn treatment, but—at a minimum—authorize private aid channels under general license, while also offering concrete assistance to Cuban health authorities.
