We’re proud to celebrate four leaders whose commitment to serving others is making a lasting impact in our community. Earlier this week, Detective Tracy Jones and Detective Sgt. Cesar Rodriguez were honored with the Above & Beyond Award from Cherish Center, recognizing the incredible work they do to support and protect children in our community. Their compassion, dedication, and commitment to some of our most vulnerable community members truly embody what it means to go above and beyond. Additionally, Chief Gebhart and Mayor Fadness were presented with Cherish’s first-ever Servant Leader Award. A servant leader is someone whose life’s work reflects a deep commitment to putting the needs of others first, someone who builds strong communities, leads with humility, and empowers others to grow rather than seeking personal recognition. We’re proud to see Detective Jones, Detective Sgt. Rodriguez, Chief Gebhart, and Mayor Fadness recognized for the heart and dedication they bring to serving Fishers. Congratulations to all of the honorees, and thank you to Cherish for the important work you do for children and families in our community.

Thank you, Fishers, for taking the time to support our National Night Out. It would not have been possible without our team here at FPD staying late and making it happen.

Great work, Detective!
Tonight, the Fifty Club of Fishers recognized Detective Dan Nelson as their Unsung Hero! Det. Nelson has been with FPD since 2007. His proactive stance is evident in his readiness to assist any agency or officer, anytime, anywhere, all in the pursuit of justice and community safety. "If something is going on criminally in Fishers, Dan knows about it and is working on it. His dedication makes us a stronger agency, a better city, and a safer community," Chief Gebhart said. His work outside the agency often flies under the radar to some but is never overlooked and is critical to helping maintain the safety and future of our city. After receiving the award, Detective Nelson said, "I just sit on a computer and kind of make things happen. The true testament is what the officers do daily. The ones that patrol our community, that solve the crimes, I just give them the leads and point them in which direction to go." Mayor Scott Fadness added, "If I am the victim of a crime, I want Detective Nelson working on the case." Congratulations, Dan, and thank you for the work you do for the City of Fishers.

Great work! Our officers are active and out in our community; this does not surprise me.
While March Madness was in full swing this weekend, our Officers stayed focused on keeping us safe. Several arrests were made this weekend, getting several “bad guys” off the streets. Anthony M. Medeiros was arrested during a traffic stop. Medeiros had a warrant related to two FPD case investigations. Mederios charges are related to two separate shootings in Fishers in 2022 and 2023. No one was physically hurt in either incident. Our Criminal Investigations and Forensics Teams were able to identify Mederios and the weapon used in both incidents. The warrant included the following charges: 2 counts - Level 1 Felony Attempted Aggravated Battery, 3 counts- Level 3 Felony Attempted Aggravated Battery 9 counts – Level 5 Felony Criminal Recklessness 3 counts – Level 6 Criminal Recklessness 4 counts – B Misdemeanor Criminal Mischief Joshua Peters was arrested during a traffic stop. Peters had a warrant from Marion County for the following charge: Level 3 Felony Armed Robbery with a deadly weapon. Lamont Davis was arrested during a traffic stop. Davis also had a warrant from Marion County for the following charge: Level 3 Felony Armed Robbery with a deadly weapon. All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
