We can't let the day end without properly remembering our friend, Officer Ron Shepard, "Uncle Ronnie".
Today we remember Officer Ron Shepard. Ron was a bigger than life and very strong presence on Night Shift for most of his 27 years patrolling the Fishers community. He was a Field Training Officer and Evidence Technician. Ron was a decorated officer, awarded the Medal of Valor, Meritorious Service and Distinguished Service. “Uncle Ronnie”, as he was known to his friends and colleagues, will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor (crushing handshake) and love for fishing and NASCAR.
Ron, you are thought of often and your story is still being told.

What an amazing and busy week!!
We started out the week joining fellow LEOs from around the state for Leadership Training hosted by our colleagues of the FBI NA.
We met as an entire agency for our yearly Department Meeting.
We moved right into hosting our annual FPD OPEN HOUSE on Wednesday. Our community got the opportunity to see behind the scenes of the agency and have 1:1 conversations with our officers and staff.
We hung out at Target, on Thursday, as they hosted us for Coffee with a Cop and car seat installation/checks.
And we finished strong with meeting our HSE 3rd graders for the weekly visit to the City today.
Whew!!! We are ready for the weekend!
Can’t wait to see you again next year for our OPEN HOUSE!
Call us if you need us Fishers. We are here for YOU!

Officer Johns is assigned to Fishers High School. He has nine years of law enforcement experience and has served with our School Resource Unit for the past three years.
Get to know your SRO!
We asked Officer Johns: “What made you want to become an SRO?”
His answer: “I became an SRO to immerse myself in a community that reminded me of the small town I grew up in, which was basically the same size as FHS. Being in a place where I can strive to get to know everyone and have everyone know me is something I really enjoy.”
Our SROs work each day to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families while helping keep our schools safe.
If you see Officer Johns at school, be sure to say hi!
