It's important for Senators of both parties to give nominees a thorough vetting.
But once crazytime starts shortly, no one should ever lose sight of the fact that KBJ is one of the most qualified and credentialed nominees in history.

Thank you, @AOC. These are important clarifications:
➡️The #2020Census will NOT ask about citizenship or immigration status
➡️Data will NOT be used in immigration enforcement
➡️Data will NOT be released to DHS (releasing data to DHS is a crime)
➡️Data WILL be kept confidential

Really good point here. Forms of “protest” they could have taken:
- sign the doc, submit it, but refuse to argue it beyond “this is now the position of the government”
- stay on the case; just not agree to sign the document
- withdraw from the case, stay at DOJ
- resign outright
Replying to @JoyceWhiteVance @elliotcwilliams
And yet, what the DOJ lawyers did yesterday — publicly withdrawing from the Stone case — is a form of speaking out while staying on the job. (Only one of the four actually quit DOJ.)
