The Doctor Can See You Now at 3G Doctor (currently available in the UK & Ireland only)

Joined January 2009
Due to exceptional demand resulting from #CoronavirusPandemic the @3GDoctor video consulting service will continue as normal for existing registered Patients but we can't at this time accept any new accounts. We're actively recruiting experienced GPs (RT's appreciated) #COVID19

A lot has happened since early March so perhaps it's time I made an update on the presentation I gave to @LondonFuturists on "What should we learn from the Covid-19 crisis?" mhealthinsight.com/2020/03/1… #mHealth

GPs across the UK & Ireland should be outraged to learn that Limerick GP #DrPatMorrissey has lost his job in Ireland for giving this speech (Show your support by sharing it & giving him a follow @Dr_Morrissey). #FreeSpeech saves Lives.
Dr Pat Morrissey’s speech needs to be heard by every person in Ireland, especially by those that are afraid of dying from Covid-19. Video credit to David Poland @monty05dog youtu.be/WiimQO0TPFA

A Special Apple Event starts in 20mins. Expect #mHealth announcements as this is their first event since governments the world over announced lockdown, NewNormal & started using mobile phones to track & isolate asymptomatic citizens, etc apple.com/apple-events/ #AppleEvent

Tomorrow I'm attending the #MarchforInnocence in Dublin. A generation of children have had access to sexual abuse videos on their mobiles & it's created a tsunami of mental health problems including #sexaddiction, #depression, brain disorders, etc. Time to do something #mHealth

14 years ago I launched @3gdoctor at a 'Mobile Monday' event in London. Fascinating experience & it's incredible that it took a global media panicdemic before Medics began to understand why it might be helpful for Patients to be able to connect with them remotely. #mHealth

In 2009 I predicted we were set to enter a decade that would be defined by the convergence of Mobile & Healthcare mhealthinsight.com/2010/01/0… As we enter the next decade it's sad to reflect back on how most of the impact on our health so far has been negative & psychological #mHealth

10 yrs ago I predicted that we were entering a decade that would be defined by the impact mobile would have on our health. Unfortunately it turned out it would have the most impact on our mental health & it would be mostly negative/harmful mhealthinsight.com/2010/01/0… #mHealth

In 2009 I predicted #mHealth would define this decade. Sadly most of the impact has been negative: "Never before in our history (indeed in all of human history) have children been given access to unlimited amounts of extreme pornographic imagery" @fotoole irishtimes.com/opinion/finta…

Is it unreasonable to think that we shouldn't start talking about 'next generation GP' concepts until this generation of Doctors are allowed to use the supercomputers in their pockets? mhealthinsight.com/2017/05/1… #RCGPAC19 #RCGPAC #mHealth

In 2019 a billion citizens carry super computers in their pockets. On World Mental Health Day perhaps it’s time we stopped saying you should “Go and Get Help”? mhealthinsight.com/2017/02/1… #WorldMentalHealthDay #mentalhealth #mHealth

Many claim the future of #mHealth is about surgeons remotely operating on Patients via 5G network connected robots but I think it's more about healthcare services going #MobileFirst & giving a Billion+ citizens reassurance that they'll be ok if they fall mhealthinsight.com/2016/01/0…
Man goes biking, flips his bike, hits his head, gets knockedout and doesn't regain consciousness until sometime during the ambulance ride. Apple Watch detects the fall, autodials 911 with his location and EMS has him picked up and in the hospital in <30 minutes. 🙏🏻❤😇 @tim_cook

Surveillance capitalism is disrupting Healthcare but who's looking out for Patients when Venture debt backed services they use are merely methods of collecting behavioural data that will be used to predict futures in a surveillance economy? theguardian.com/technology/2… #mHealth

How are governments able to get away with pretending it's impossible to restrict/prevent children watching & sharing videos of sexual abuse? Surely handset manufacturers & network operators have a duty of care to society? irishtimes.com/news/crime-an…

We may live in George Orwell's 1984 but when your mental health is in such a bad state that you're considering suicide you are expected to have to go to a Doctor who knows next to nothing about you (not even your name) mhealthinsight.com/2017/02/1… #mHealth
George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four depicted a world of near total surveillance by the state. In today’s Britain, we live under a different type of tyranny, says Tom Slater. We use our smartphones to record ourselves and each other all the time. spectator.co.uk/2019/06/self…
