Użyłem też do wstępnej wersje okładki i paru innych drobiazgów wizualnych. Parę godzin pracy z głowy, AI zajęło to 5-10 minut. 4. Przygotowanie do spotkań. 5. Notion. Producent zapewnia, że „Sauna is GDPR compliant and your data isn't used to train AI models”. – Slack: myślę o stworzeniu społeczności AI. Poprosiłem, żeby przygotował cały workspace i kanały tematyczne.

Over the past month, we completely switched to frontier LLMs to control a robot in a customer deployment. By doing this, we have a classic System 1/System 2 architecture, but on steroids. For the high-level reasoning layer, we use an agent based on Opus and Astra, which are many generations more capable than any VLA. For the fast execution layer, we use computer vision code written by the model, which is fast, editable, and reliable. As a bonus, we got in-context learning, which is just a basic feature of LLMs, and continual learning, since whenever a new situation arises, the large model steps in and adapts the pipeline. And it just feels better to be on the right side of the Bitter Lesson, benefiting from the billions being invested in frontier models around the world.

As I keep saying, we're months away from RSI. Dwarkesh (who, BTW, is roommates with a senior Anthropic researcher) has heard that Anthropic expects AI to match humans at AI research within 9 months.
Dwarkesh Patel reveals an Anthropic employee told him two days ago they expect AIs to match humans at AI research within nine months based on inside information they can’t share, and says labs should make that evidence public “I think there’s a very frustrating element to the current situation right now, where people inside the AI labs claim to have evidence that makes them more worried. And they are not allowed to talk about it. And this makes it a very difficult situation on the outside to evaluate how worried we should be." "So for example, just the other day, maybe two days ago, I was talking to somebody at Anthropic and they were like, look, I expect AIs to be humans at AI research within nine months." "And I’m like, why do you believe that? Well, they’re like, it’s not just vibes, but I have information on the inside. Like, what is it? Is it a new model? Is it some evaluation you ran? It’s like, I can’t talk about it." "I think it’s a terrible state of affairs. If they really believe this, if they think that we’re in a situation where we’re less than a year away from automating AI research and radically speeding it up, they should make this evidence public.”

Significant update from Jack Clark this morning. His RSI timelines have moved up. He now says it is likely that full RSI will become possible in 2027, and that creativity was the last piece. I think we are less than six months away from closing the loop.
Most of the recent math results were not reached by a swarm, the way Navier–Stokes was. I think that part got lost in the excitement around the release. OpenAI's unnamed internal model, which I'm going to call Aeon, reached most of them in one shot, from a single prompt, with no interruptions. This model did not even exist before the end of August, and it is still training. Notice how the returns are not dropping off? That chart is from a month ago. It is a log scale. What does Aeon look like now? On average, each result used three hours of thinking. Aeon was given 4000 problems to work on by OpenAI. How many more have been solved in the last three days? That number is not zero. It's like hearing notes in a song that is slowly rising. I don't think Pacing the Frontier was just about Hugging Face or hacking. They've seen how close we are to closing the loop, and as the hour draws near, their resolve begins to quaver. The last piece was model creativity, and I think that threshold was crossed internally by Anthropic and OpenAI in September. You see it in Opus 5.5, which gets it from Fable 5.5. You see it in the math results from Aeon. All that was needed to start the event was the ability for models to think of novel ways to improve themselves. That was the last piece. This is directly analogous to the ability to think of strange, alien ways to solve math problems: solutions so inhuman that they are difficult to express in existing human terms, so the proof winds up incomprehensible. I think these same kinds of alien solutions are now being applied to model improvements internally. That's what all this recent consternation is really about. They see the invisible frontier. And they see what is about to happen.

Unitree CEO Wang Xingxing recently said that GPT-7 could solve the challenges of embodied AI entirely and that he had made a mistake by not taking AI seriously enough. Quote: “We’ve put it (GPT-6) on various robots and tested it across a range of tasks, and the results have actually been very good. Our company and other robotics companies are already running pilot deployments in factories. To achieve large-scale adoption, though, both generalization and efficiency still need to improve further. But I think these challenges could very well be resolved over the next few years. My faith in AI grows stronger every year. The biggest mistake I’ve made over the past decade or so has been not believing in AI enough. Deployment in commercial services may happen even faster than in industrial settings.”

Important work and terrifying result
How fast is AI's research taste improving? We find that the experimental research taste of frontier models has doubled every ~3 months since December 2025. The best model, Opus 5.5, now exceeds our expert human baseline. Our human experts are experienced researchers, but most haven’t worked at a frontier lab. Why measure research taste? In the AI Futures Model, it largely determines how quickly artificial superintelligence is reached once coding is fully automated.

Major announcement in mathematical formalization! Finally, after 3 months of very intensive, nonstop work by several AI agents (Codex and Claude Code), we have settled a classification of ALL 15,973 semigroups of order 6. Every one of the 15,969 that has a finite basis now has it written down explicitly, and the remaining 4 are proved to have none at all. The whole list of bases is produced for the first time in history. Until now, for most of these semigroups, mathematicians only knew that a basis exists; nobody had ever written one down. The formalization in Lean, orchestrated with a multi-agent approach, reached more than 5 MILLION lines of verified Lean code, one of the largest auto-formalization projects to date. It's been an amazing joint work with @JanotaMikolas and @Jan_Hula, accompanied by senior experts in semigroup theory, João Araújo and Edmond W. H. Lee. Our paper describing this project, "Proving at Scale for Universal Algebra", has been accepted at the MATH-AI workshop, NeurIPS 2026! When we launched this project, we were a bit pessimistic: producing proofs for 15,973 semigroups seemed out of scope for the current technology. But with a careful setup (agents communicating through a mailbox we arranged, orchestrating the effort with a custom method of bootstrapping and auto-research), it has finally come to the finish line. The last 390 semigroups took 23 more days. The very last one needed a whole structural analysis before its proof could even be written.

Warto zapamiętać nazwiska tych polskich naukowców. Hubert Baniecki i Michał Nauman zostali laureatami prestiżowej Nagrody im. Witolda Lipskiego 2026 w kategorii informatyka stosowana. W czasach żelaznej kurtyny współpracował z czołowymi informatykami Zachodu, m.i n. z Christosem Papadimitriou i Franco Preparatą. Wypromował m. in. Imielińskiego (dziś Rutgers University) i Zbigniewa Michalewicza (Adelaide University). Zmarł w 1985 roku w Nantes, mając 36 lat. Od 2025 roku nagrodę organizuje Instytut Badawczy IDEAS. Jej pierwszym laureatem, w 2005 roku, był Piotr Sankowski @piotrsankowski.

Feeling the AGI/ASI, few observations 1. Opus 5.5 really gives strong vibes of AGI (maybe not fully there, but we're very close, like 80%-90%). For example, few breakthoughs in training humanoids are needed. We need to move this intelligence into physical world. 2. I don't think Anthropic has discovered any magical formula. 3. Which means, SpaceXAI, Google, and others will soon follow. This prediction is based on the amount of compute they already have + additional compute being added all the time. 4. Never was more confident that Anthropic, SpaceXAI, Google, OpenAI, likely Meta, basically all big US AGI labs will have proper AGI in 2027. 5. And from there we'll move quickly to ASI territory (likely also in 2027). It looks like few GW of compute are enough for strong AGI, now imagine what we will able to do with 10-20GW of compute which are rapidly coming online. And then with 100GW-200GW... 2027 will be an utterly insane year.

RIP em dash
We analyzed how @claudeai’s Opus 5.5 writes compared with Opus 5 across high-reasoning Text Arena outputs. 10 of 12 writing measures moved in a better direction. Opus 5.5 should be easier to read: - Long content words fall from 41.7% to 38.6%, the lowest share of any Claude model we analyzed. - Sentences are 17% shorter on average, dropping from 12.14 to 10.03 words. The tradeoff is length. Answers get 6% wordier, rising from 453 to 481 words on average, making Opus 5.5 give the longest answers across the Opus family. It also sounds less recognizably AI on two familiar tells: - 95% fewer em dashes - 73% fewer semicolons But a new giveaway may be emerging. Hedges and caveats such as “perhaps” and “arguably” rise 97%, from 0.39 to 0.77 per 1,000 words, the highest rate of any Claude model we analyzed. What do you think: does Opus 5.5 read more naturally?

We’re launching the Army of Robots. In 2022, we launched the Army of Drones. Today, drones account for over 95% of battlefield strikes, and Ukraine has more than 700 UAV manufacturers. Now we need the next technological breakthrough: the robotization of warfare. The goal is simple — save lives. Robots should take on the most dangerous missions: evacuating the wounded, delivering ammunition, mining and demining, reconnaissance, defending positions and engaging targets. The Army of Robots is not one company. It’s an ecosystem. We will invest in defense tech companies, launch our own technology projects, test them with the military and scale what works on the battlefield. We’re now looking for defense tech companies and engineers working on robotic technologies — as well as a CTO / Tech Lead for the Army of Robots. Join us: thearmyofrobots.com/en
