#FACup 1st Rd tie facts!
@OfficialPVFC vs @SUFCOfficial
Port Vale won both previous FA Cup games 67 years and 42 years ago!
A revenge #Cupset win for Scunthorpe Utd would take club into 2nd Rd for first time in 8 years!
Port Vale reached Quarter Finals just last season!

A reminder Brunel built the Great Western Railway between London and Bristol in 6 years. Without a modern road system, CAD, laser surveying, heavy machinery.

The Great Western Railway act of parliament was passed in 1835. Trains ran between London and Bristol just 6 years later. It cost Β£6.5 million which was around double the estimate. It is less than Β£1 billion allowing for inflation. How the hell can the greatly neutered HS2 cost over Β£100 billion. More to the point how can it possibly take nearly 30 years before a train can run? I K Brunel didnβt have modern machines and computer design tools, but he managed with a small hand-picked team of closely supervised engineers. Oh and a lot of navvies.

.@katyperry Katy, what the hell were you thinking when you married loser Russell Brand. There is a guy who has got nothing going, a waste!

A massive tunnel built directly underneath a disused railway line.
In a big step forward, HS2 has now broken through at Old Oak Common, completing a 14km tunnel from West Ruislip.
This station will be one of the best-connected rail hubs in the country, bringing together HS2, the Elizabeth Line, Heathrow Express and GWR.
After years of mismanagement, weβre finally getting a grip and making progress.

The UK was and currently is doing this... Until we won't be again in a couple of years.
The Conservatives stopped what was a nominal programme of high speed rail construction over one lost by-election and Labour were and remain too spineless to reverse that decision.

What happens when you ignore warnings for a YEAR?
Bristolβs Pero Bridge, built in 1999, COLLAPSED on Saturday night.
Back in July 2025, an inspection of the bridge found βmajor structural issuesβ that needed βurgent attentionβ.
Did they act urgently?
NO.
They waited a whole YEAR. Then it got STUCK open in August.
Now, months later, it's COLLAPSED.
The Council *hope* It will reopen some time in 2027.
Britain should build and maintain its bridges BEFORE they collapse.
What do you think?
