Love it at the time! Re-read it a yr ago, & loved it even more! It's just a fun story, with some great ideas, & a few really clever lines & moments. Also makes a good use of the Alternate History arc whilst doing something a bit different. A contender for a place in the NA Top 10

Mad Dogs & Englishmen! The only book so good it has had a third airing! How much fun can two people have discussing a book? Presto or Poodle! @2Broad2DeepPod podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcas…

Having only read this for the first time last year (while on holiday in Mexico), it was interesting to head back to Kate's first book. There are some very good ideas here, but perhaps a tad too many to do them all justice, feeling at times like "this might me my only chance" 1/2

Kate had been contributing stories to what felt like every fanzine in Australia for years and was part of the extended group I used to kick around with in the late 80s to early 90s. When she told us she had got a story accepted by Virgin, we were over the moon. Incredible. 1/2

Thanks Dave! I guess I was thinking 30th when I saw it's release date if there was perhaps a vibe in the air for it as an anniversary book, but seems not to have been!. Maybe folk were just happy to even see a glimmer of TV Who with the other Dimension story to think otherwise!

Happy 35th birthday to the Virgin New Adventures! It all started as a mild curiosity in a charity shop when I first saw Timewyrm Genesys - thankfully I picked up other VNAs there also! 📚 Here's our 1st episode on Genesys on the book's anniversary 👇 open.spotify.com/episode/1rc…
