Já no paddock em Interlagos, Hamilton voltou a criticar as atitudes recentes de Leclerc na pista. Questionado se concordava que Leclerc era mais agressivo com ele do que com outros pilotos, usando como exemplo o fato de Leclerc ter desistido de ultrapassar Max Verstappen na largada em Singapura, Hamilton respondeu: "Sim".
E acrescentou: "Posso dizer o que vocês viram. Em Singapura, ele estava roda a roda com Max, totalmente por dentro, tinha assumido a liderança na curva 1 e recuou. Definitivamente ele corre contra seus companheiros de equipe de forma diferente. Se você observar, foi o mesmo com Vettel e Sainz"

I did see something that someone was saying that the things that I'm saying are calculated, and I just want to combat that with the fact that when you're in the race, your heartrate is like 170. You're driving 200 miles an hour. You don't have time to be calculated in what you're saying and thinking about what the media are going to write about, you don't think about that.
Of course, there's some times you say things and maybe you might regret it afterwards, but I don't, and I'm never going to apologise for being authentic and real. I'm not gonna be silenced. LH: « I can't say more. If you look at the teammates, it's the same with Sebastian. It's the same with Carlos.
He's been here a long time. He's at eight years. Nine wins in the team. He's very much embedded within the team, and I knew that it would always be a challenge. I've always respected that, and I've approached the team. I've really worked hard to build a good relationship with Charles and bridge the gap and make sure that we're harmonious and we work hard together. Always try to be respectful.
Naturally, it's not so easy having someone like me come into a team because I'm very outspoken, and I push and push and push and push for so many changes. »
