Attractive public spaces and facilities help make a community thrive. They make life more enjoyable and satisfying.
I want people, families, and places to be more prosperous. With economic growth we can invest in the shared spaces that help make a place a home.

GB Energy, the useless state-owned company established by Labour, has so far spent £14.2m on running costs — and £5.8m on investments.
Running costs included the almost £400,000/year paid to its ineffective CEO and six executives on more than £100,000 each. What any of them has done to earn these sums is one of life’s mysteries.
Perhaps it’s a blessing it’s invested so little. The £5.8m it has earmarked is for a proposed floating wind farm off the north coast of Scotland — a sure-fire loss-maker if ever there was one.
The role of a councillor is to serve the public, not serve oneself 😏
Labour councillor was "too tired" to remember hospitality rules training
A Labour councillor and former Sheriff of Nottingham used his title to get a £20,000 discount on Land Rover repairs and free Paw Patrol tickets
Zafran Khan, a Labour councillor who held the ceremonial Sheriff of Nottingham role, emailed a Stratstone dealership from his council address and signed off as the Sheriff. Repairs quoted at £30,000 were cut to £7500.
An independent report found he also took free tickets to Paw Patrol Live, a Tate McRae concert and a Nottingham Panthers game plus racecourse hospitality without declaring them.
Council rules require gifts over £25 to be registered.
Khan said he was too tired to remember the rules after staying up until 4am or 5am before induction training. He denied any intent to gain advantage. The report said it was reasonably obvious that using the title might lead to one.
Complaints began in September last year. The standards committee meeting was abandoned and rescheduled. Khan’s legal team says the report contains errors. No sanctions have been decided.
The epitome of champagne socialists. We deserve so much better than these two clowns.

While the British people struggle with the cost of living, Labour’s tax rises and the lack of defence funding to protect us, they are acting like they don’t have a care in the world.

Local Conservatives just voted to defend democracy in the face of a concerted attack by the Labour Government to reduce the role of councillors in the scrutiny process around planning applications at a time when targets are increasing and there’s concerted pressure to build.

There’s a lot of self-serving spin emanating from the UK government about how virtuous it is re fiscal consolidation.
Here are the facts.
Labour inherited an OBR budget deficit forecast of £87bn (3.1% GDP) for FY2024/25. After R Reeves’ 1st disastrous budget the actual deficit was £153bn (5.2%). Massive jump.
Labour inherited OBR budget deficit of £77bn (2.7%) for FY2025/26. After RR’s disastrous 2nd budget that turned out to be £133bn (4.3%).
So in its first two years it added over £120bn to borrowing/deficit (despite huge increase in taxes).
The OBR forecast it inherited for this FY2026/27 was £69bn (2.3%). It is now forecast to be £116bn (3.3%). That looks like an underestimate. More likely to be closer to £130bn again.
Inherited budget forecast for 2027/28: £51bn (1.6%). Latest forecast: £97bn (2.9%).
Inherited budget forecast for 2028/29: £39bn (1.2%). Latest forecast: £86bn (2.5%).
Far from fiscal consolidation Labour is forecast to borrow an incredible £260bn more over the 5 years from 2024/25 than the forecasts it inherited. Despite the tax rises.
Which will continue. Alone among G7 countries the IMF projects the UK tax burden to rise by 3.7% of GDP 2025-31. The only other country with a rising tax burden is France (0.8%). Italy is static. Rest of G7 have falling tax burden.
And let’s not forget Labour’s so-called ‘fiscal consolidation’ is all backloaded to end-decade. Unlikely to happen. So taxes will have to rise by even more.

Far too many people in local government are getting away with wasting - or outright stealing - taxpayer money.
The vast majority of councillors are honest people trying to improve their local area.
But we have to root out the fraudsters who are ripping off taxpayers.

Andy Burnham has just made an outrageous statement at PMQs, potentially one of the worst gaffes I have ever witnessed from a Prime Minister.
He has presumed Joshua Kerry guilty of murdering Ann Widdecombe before he has even stood trial, live on national TV, for a global audience to witness.
These were his exact words, “could I start just by recognising, with the charges that have been laid against the individual responsible for the murder of Ann Widdecombe”
Read that again.
He didn't say the individual accused of her murder.
He said the individual responsible for her murder.
Whatever your views on Joshua Kerry, the public does not know all the facts. That is precisely why we have criminal trials.
A man is innocent until proven guilty. That principle applies to everyone, without exception.
Yet the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has just publicly spoken as though a man awaiting trial has already been convicted of murder.
For Andy Burnham to make such a serious error while discussing matter involving ongoing legal proceedings is deeply concerning.

Andy Burnham just denied in Parliament that he said there was Russian interference in the Brexit referendum.
As he suggested in the House, I went back and looked again.
He did.
He put it ‘clearly on the record.’
Martin Loftus retweeted
He's right, he didn't imply. He outright said it.
I asked "Was there interference in the 2016 referendum from Russia? And I've had the clear answer that yes there was. These things are important to put clearly on the record".
Not attempted interference.

When asking locals whether I can rely upon their support next may, some don’t want to reveal their intention. However, the majority of those are keen to point out they’ll definitely not be voting Reform.
Now is the time to put country before party, which is why Conservative voters should back Reform UK @reformparty_uk and @Nigel_Farage to rescue our country from this catastrophic Labour government and stop our nation's decline! 🇬🇧
