Many people misunderstand local AI. They see it as a replacement for frontier models like Opus. That's missing the point. Local AI solves 3 main problems: 1. Privacy and data ownership: Full control over your data. Run LLMs on isolated or completely offline machines. 2. Control: Run uncensored or fine-tuned models, pinned to specific versions that never change unless you choose to update them. 3. Cost at scale: Use frontier models for complex reasoning and planning, then delegate suitable tasks to local models. No provider-imposed rate limits or token fees. It's not for everyone, though. Hardware costs, performance limitations, and ongoing maintenance are trade-offs.

I currently have more than 200 report-ready findings that I cannot submit because of the warnings I received from @Hacker0x01 and the possibility of getting banned. Other researchers are facing similar concerns, yet the bug bounty community has remained mostly silent about it. If the goal is to prevent AI-slop reports, treating duplicate reports as invalid or low-quality is probably one of the worst ways to measure report quality. Researchers cannot know whether another researcher has already submitted the same issue. A better approach could be adding a dedicated PoC section to reports and evaluating submissions based on validation quality, reproducibility, and demonstrated impact rather than simply volume or duplicate outcomes. This is becoming a serious issue for researchers who are actively testing, validating findings, and trying to contribute at scale. #BugBounty #HackerOne

"The most intelligent inhabitants of that future world won't be men or monkeys. They'll be machines—the remote descendants of today's computers. Now the present-day electronic brains are complete morons, but this will not be true in another generation. They will start to think, and eventually they will completely outthink their makers. Is this depressing? I don't see why it should be. We superseded the Cro-Magnon and Neanderthal men, and we presume we're an improvement. I think we should regard it as a privilege to be stepping stones to higher things. I suspect that organic, or biological, evolution has about come to its end, and we're now at the beginning of inorganic, or mechanical, evolution, which will be thousands of times swifter." — Arthur C. Clark 1964
