Thames Water is due to run out of money (again) over the next few weeks. A year and a half ago it was given a £3 billion bailout now it's asking for another £2.4 billion. We really are being taken for mugs. theguardian.com/business/202…

They've really made a cunt of themselves with the proscription of Palestine Action. Not since the Puritans cancelled Christmas in the 17th century has such a bad law been imposed. The proscription of genocide? Na. Let's instead proscribe those who oppose it. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crn4…

Oh dear. The creep who enabled Russian money £4.8m corrupting the Tory party and brexit. Russian interference -2012 at the Russian Embassy when they hosted Conservative Friends of Russia. Vote Leave CEO -Elliott went to Moscow 1 month later with Russian spy- Sergey Nalobin.

Former Head of MI6 Sir John Sawers, "Russia was very keen that the Leave campaign should succeed and that Britain should leave the European Union" "Because that would marginalise Britain as a global player and weaken Europe in general" "That's the strategic opportunity the Russians spotted, and the leaders of the Leave campaign fell into it" My view: Former MI6 chief Sir John Sawers says Russia saw Brexit as a way to weaken Britain and divide Europe, and that the Leave campaign’s leaders walked straight into the opportunity. So let’s remember who sold it: VOTE LEAVE • Boris Johnson — political figurehead • Michael Gove and Gisela Stuart — campaign committee co-convenors • Matthew Elliott — chief executive • Dominic Cummings — campaign director • Daniel Hannan — leading Brexit advocate • Priti Patel, Iain Duncan Smith, Chris Grayling, John Whittingdale and Theresa Villiers — senior Conservative campaigners • David Davis, Liam Fox, Dominic Raab, Steve Baker and Douglas Carswell — prominent Leave campaigners LEAVE. EU • Nigel Farage — leading political figure • Arron Banks — co-chairman and major funder • Andy Wigmore — communications director GRASSROOTS OUT / LABOUR LEAVE • Peter Bone and Tom Pursglove — Grassroots Out co-founders • Kate Hoey — Grassroots Out co-founder and Labour Leave campaigner • Graham Stringer, Kelvin Hopkins and Roger Godsiff — Labour Leave campaigners • Sammy Wilson — prominent DUP Leave campaigner They promised Brexit would make Britain stronger. Sawers says Russia saw the opposite opportunity: a Britain marginalised and a Europe weakened.

Warning: Distressing and graphic language An undercover investigation inside Reform UK’s political operation has found senior party officials saying they have to “defend the indefensible” when dealing with accusations of racism against party figures, with Nigel Farage told he was “protecting” one Reform candidate from being sacked for allegedly racist views. ITV Exposure gained unprecedented access to Reform’s Westminster headquarters, sending in an undercover reporter inside the party in January 2026, where she worked as a press officer. She secretly recorded conversations between Reform officials as they dealt with multiple accusations of racism by Reform councillors and candidates. Reform UK told us: “Not all individuals covertly recorded by ITV are members of Reform UK. Where members, activists and councillors have clearly behaved inappropriately, investigations have commenced. In some cases, there have been suspensions and due process must be followed. “Reform UK has improved and prioritised its vetting procedures, but from time to time, a handful of individuals who do not share our values will initially make it through vetting. This is the same for all organisations. “There is no room for racism in Reform UK. We always respect due process of investigations and whilst these are ongoing it would not be appropriate to comment on individual cases.” Watch ‘Undercover: A Year in Reform’ on ITV1 & ITVX from 10:20pm on Sunday

If you missed it first time around here is the Labour Lord Sewel snorting drugs, lounging in a prostitute's bra, and boasting his House of Lords expenses paid for it all. However, he was a good judge of character, for in a secret recording he said that Andy Burnham was "fatuous, and said he was "all presentation" with little substance."

Reform Councillor Dean Miller on ITV News's expose, "King Charles is a f*cking Muslim" Says that's "traitorous" And then says, "cut the c*nts head off, sorry" My view: The sheer extremism of this statement is staggering, words spoken so casually. A democratically elected councillor suggesting that the British monarch should be beheaded because he supposedly follows Islam is not simply offensive language. It is a chilling expression of religious hatred and violent extremism. And consider the underlying prejudice: even if King Charles were Muslim, why on earth would that make him a traitor? Since when has someone's religion determined their loyalty to Britain? Dean Miller has since resigned from Reform UK, but how is he still in public office in Bromley Council, or anywhere for that matter? How can a democratic system claim to uphold equality, tolerance and the rule of law when its institutions lack the powers to remove elected representatives for even the most serious misconduct? The issue goes far beyond Dean Miller or Reform UK. It raises fundamental questions about accountability across our entire political system. There should be an immediate police assessment of remarks advocating violence, alongside an independent investigation and a legally robust process for removing councillors found responsible for serious misconduct.

There are no divisions. There’s one ex-Green MP who is throwing a tantrum. Deputy Leader, like almost everyone else in the Greens, said the party will respect the democratic decision of the members and that we all back Zack. This is a media manufactured crisis. Don’t fall for it

The failure of brexit was entirely foreseeable with useless MP's & liars like @DavidDavisMP @michaelgove @BorisJohnson failing at every level. AS the woman in this video said to Johnson before the vote -"You only joined Leave to become PM." The most corrupt in UK history:
Replying to @DavidDavisMP
The failures of the Sustainable Farming Incentive were entirely foreseeable. On multiple occasions, the @Conservatives and the @NFUtweets warned the Government that the total funding was not enough to meet demand and that allocating funding on a first-come, first-served basis would shut applicants out and reduce the opportunity to deliver any sort of quality control for applications.

£1,700 OF IMAGINARY STAMPS You run a small post office. One morning the computer says you hold £1,700 of stamps that sit nowhere in your branch. No delivery came. You ring the helpline. The helpline says.. pay. That happened to Scott Darlington in 2008. He paid £850 a month for 2 months, taken straight from his pay. The Post Office offered no investigation. Customer service at its finest. Scott Darlington ran the Alderley Edge branch of @PostOffice in Cheshire from 2005 to 2009. A subpostmaster is the person who runs your local post office, usually with their own money. He paid £154K for the branch. In case you missed the Post Office scandal, here is the short version. The Post Office used a computer system called Horizon, built by Fujitsu. It showed money missing in branches across the UK. The Post Office decided the postmasters took it. Then it prosecuted around 700 of them. Back to Scott Darlington. After the £1,700, the gaps kept growing. He says he kept the accounts looking right because the last time he asked for help, the Post Office just took the money. By February 2009 an audit put the gap at over £44K. On audit day, Post Office fraud investigators arrived. He says they told him he was suspected of a crime before the audit was even finished. They interviewed him under caution and searched his home. He says the Post Office's own report went through his bank accounts and found no evidence he stole anything. The theft charge was dropped. The false accounting charges stayed. Efficiency. His lawyers told him to plead guilty, because nobody would believe the Post Office's computer could be wrong. His daughter was 8. He pleaded guilty to avoid prison and got 3 months suspended. On the first day of his trial, the Post Office did not turn up. The judge was not happy. The Post Office then applied to recover £44K from him under the Proceeds of Crime Act and got a restraining order over his branch lease, his property and his car. It dropped the application on the day of the hearing. He was told it could not succeed. He told the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry (@PostOffInquiry) what came next. He lost the branch and the business. His landlord gave him 7 days to find £5K to avoid bankruptcy, so he sold his instruments and home studio. The conviction helped end his relationship with his daughter's mother after more than 20 years together. It left him with depression and anxiety. He passed the interview for a job, then lost it when a background check showed the conviction. He spent over 3 years unemployed and on benefits. In April 2021 the Court of Appeal quashed his conviction along with 38 others. The judges said the Post Office's failures were so bad that the prosecutions offended the conscience of the court. That came 11 years after his conviction. The ruling returned his good name, which was nice of it. He told the Inquiry the business, the lost income and the years of poverty stayed lost. The Post Office is 100% owned by the UK government. Scott Darlington says he believes the Post Office and the government department that owns it knew, or should have known. He wants those responsible held to account in public. Read his story and share it. The Post Office is hoping you scroll past. Brazil’s senate has approved a constitutional amendment ending the country’s six-day workweek, delivering a key pledge by president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva just days before an election run-off. The reform, passed on Wednesday, shortens the working week from 44 hours to a maximum of 40 hours and is set to improve working conditions for more than 37 million people. That includes 16 million who work six-day weeks and are now guaranteed two days of rest each week without a reduction to their wages. The amendment primarily affects workers in low paid industries such as retail and hospitality, one of the groups from which Lula has lost support since defeating far-right incumbent Jair Bolsonaro in the 2022 election. Bolsonaro is serving a 27-year prison sentence for plotting a failed coup in the wake of his defeat. Informal and gig economy workers, including app-based drivers without employment contracts, will not be covered by the new law. Lula, who will face far-right Flávio Bolsonaro, the jailed former president’s son, for a second round on 25 October, called the reform a “victory for the working class”. He said on X the vote was “a historic achievement for millions of workers, who will now have more time to rest, be with their family, take care of themselves and live,” The victory may give Lula a much-needed boost; the leftwing incumbent came second behind Bolsonaro in the first round of voting on 4 October and is still trailing him in the polls, albeit by a small margin. Brazilian trade unions and labour federations welcomed the amendment, which they said followed months of widespread strikes and protests by workers. Advocates have been calling for the policy for years, but it gained more traction in 2023 thanks to a viral TikTok video by pharmacy clerk-turned-influencer Rick Azevedo. Bolsonaro long opposed the proposal, calling it an "opportunistic" attempt by Lula to appeal to working-class voters. But he reversed course shortly before the 4 October vote, telling journalists that “most Brazilian workers ‌want to see the end of the six-day workweek.” Seventy-five senators, including Bolsonaro allies, voted in favour of the amendment. The only one to vote against it was former vice-president Hamilton Mourão, who worked under Jair Bolsonaro.
