AdaniConneX’s planned data centres in Visakhapatnam, developed in partnership with Google, will use air-cooling technology to avoid water-intensive evaporative cooling. Freshwater consumption across three sites is expected to remain below the volume of an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
The campuses will use dedicated industrial water connections, recycle wastewater on-site and follow a zero-discharge policy.
The move comes amid concerns over the project’s proximity to the Mudasarlova Reservoir and Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary. The proposed 1 GW development is part of Andhra Pradesh’s push to establish Vizag as a major AI and data centre hub.
