love this. Omarchy is just so stylish. 4000+ plugins in, you’d expect such an open and malleable OS to turn into a patchwork of different styles and designs, but somehow most of it still feels remarkably consistent.
I made it so my computer draws its own little mark from its specs and stats whenever I press About in the Omarchy menu

UPDATE: I can confirm that the Ledger supply chain is compromised in Europe as well. @Ledger should initiate an immediate product recall to protect users. I just purchased a second device from a different Mediamarkt location today, recorded the unboxing process, and discovered spyware once again (video linked in the second tweet). The device was compromised in the exact same manner, featuring identical modifications (such as additional cables and an LTE module). This indicates its a widespread issue rather than an isolated incident, potentially affecting Ledger inventory across MediaMarkt and Saturn stores throughout Europe (comprising over 1,000 stores across 11 countries). My initial hypothesis was that these devices were returns that looked unopened to the employees and were just sold again as new however, a MediaMarkt employee confirmed that the device I purchased was not a return, and that returned Ledgers are sent directly back to the manufacturer rather than resold. Store records show the inventory originated from Aqipa GmbH. While Ledger's CTO was unsure if Aqipa serves as the direct distributor between Ledger and MediaMarkt, it appears to be the case. Given that Aqipa distributes across Europe, any physical retail store receiving stock through them may be at risk. I sent the first ledger to mark and the second one is going to ledger now, so that they can analyse it. If you purchased a ledger from anyone other than the official ledger store, make sure to check your device!!

this is actually really nice. most of the time it’s simply a better designed and structured output, but i’ve already gotten multiple interactive calculators and other little tools. makes the whole thing feel so much more polished.
GPT-6 and Intelligent UI, now rolling out in ChatGPT for everyone. Intelligent UI in ChatGPT delivers fast, interactive answers that make everyday questions more visual, complex topics easier to grasp, and interactive tools for your task available on the spot.

surprisingly, paying for AI seems way more common in Germany.
98% of US households aren't paying for AI yet More charts in State of Markets II: a16z.news/p/state-of-markets…

not the right os for me, but if you’re on macOS, give reflect a try. it makes it incredibly easy to build a powerful graph without all the usual complexity - the best out-of-the-box experience of any note-taking app i’ve tried, and i’ve tried almost all of them. now open source, too.
We built the notes app we always wished Apple Notes was. Beautiful, connected by backlinks, instant to search, and every note is a plain Markdown file your AI agents can read. Reflect Open is out of beta today. Open source, free on Mac, and on iPhone and iPad.

The constant decel messaging in Europe is insufferable as an adult, but its effect on kids is worse. As a parent, it's your obligation to counterprogram this nonsense. Show them robots, rockets, and wonders of AI. Show them cathedrals and moon landings. Instill hope in progress.

one from my old MTB life: mtb.deals always thought this would be a great domain for a mountain bike deals / affiliate / marketplace project, but I’m not going to build it myself. so I’m putting it up for sale. mtb.deals

Some data we recently assembled on entrepreneurship/compute in Europe: eudata.vercel.app. We hope that one of the useful roles that Stripe can play is in collecting and publishing empirical data pertaining to entrepreneurship and industry in Europe. There's growing appetite to get Europe on a better footing, and cross-sectional comparisons can often shine light on where opportunities lie. If you're interested in this kind of thing, we publish more at stripeeconomics.substack.com.

Just replaced local whisper with @soniox_ai in voxtype. - omg, what is this magic? Instant dictation might actually turn me into a voice-input person after all. Until now, it never really clicked for my day-to-day use.

just in case you needed another reason to switch to Omarchy…
Your PC might soon ask how old you are before you can use it. California, Colorado, and Illinois have passed laws requiring operating systems like Windows and macOS to collect users’ ages. California’s law starts in 2027. For now, simply declaring your age is enough, but companies could eventually use facial scans, government IDs or other verification methods to prevent minors from simply lying. The really important part is that these laws could have effects far beyond the states that passed them. Apple, Google and Microsoft may decide it’s easier to build one age-verification system for everyone rather than completely different systems for each state

finally, an EU-mandated button I’d actually want: “delete the empty account I accidentally created because your magic-link login meant my password manager had no credentials, so I tried Google sign-in with my completely different Google email”
