People play at the lgs because playing the game is fun and they enjoy learning it with friends.
Magic can make way better promo i agree, but if you need 100$ to show up at your local on a friday night, maybe the game isn’t for you anymore.

I came into this Pro Tour with a career record of 2-10-1 at professional events.
For as long as I've played Magic, competing on the PT has been the ultimate goal. Qualifying once already felt like achieving a dream. I never thought I'd want anything more than simply being there.

Earning the trust of 10 players is the hard part.
What they did with it was all them.
As for me: I finished 11-5, 24th.
5-1 in draft.
6-4 in constructed.
Both of my draft decks were green-based. I felt like it was the color to be in to end up with the best possible deck in many pods, as most were competing for white and blue cards.
