This week, we shipped 33 improvements to Zite. The biggest is a completely new workspace layout. We rethought it from the ground up as @zite evolves from building individual apps to running entire systems. Here's what's changed: 🧭 Workspace • One sidebar for apps, databases, users, integrations, version history, and settings • More room to build with a collapsible sidebar and resizable chat • See who's working on each app and which builds need attention • Switch organizations, star workspaces, and organize them into sections • Better workspace URLs and faster navigation 💡 Building with AI • Feature suggestions as you type your prompt • Auto mode is now the default • Larger chat box, with drafts saved across refreshes • Paste image URLs directly into chat • Long builds now retain their to-do lists • Hero images generate in ~20 seconds, with better image quality • App previews update after every build, with sample data for private apps 🚚 Migrating to Zite • New migration hub for Airtable, Notion, Salesforce, Monday, and more • Rebuild Fillout forms as full apps, preserving logic, branding, and connected accounts • Airtable rollups stay live after import 🗃️ Database • Import data directly from connected tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, and Notion • Simpler AI field models: Mini, Pro, and Max • Filter tables using checkboxes in linked records • Search tables directly from the tab list • People lookups now show names instead of IDs • CSV exports include formulas, rollups, and lookups 🔐 Access & sharing • Open internal apps across organizations without switching dashboards • Email notifications when teammates are granted access • Access requests go to workspace managers • Improvements to revoking users • Custom domains for internal apps 🤖 Connected AI agents • Connect Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor straight from Home • See which agent made each change, with a dedicated activity feed • Connected agents can upload files to your database • Connected agents can create and edit AI fields ✨ And more • Faster published apps and sign-ins • Duplicate entire workspaces, including connected accounts, secrets, and context • 50 free credits for work-email signups, plus 50 for each onboarding step Full changelog: zite.com/help/whats-new

Local governments have been stuck with expensive, outdated software for far too long. At the first @zite SF Build Summit, we got a glimpse of the future. Teams from San Francisco, Santa Clara County, Solano County, Boston, Arizona, and more came together for a day of building, in partnership with Chris Dancy from MetroIQ. A few highlights: - The City of Boston shared how they replaced a 25-year-old grants management system with Zite, saving an estimated $2M per year - Santa Clara County demoed a system for tracking vote centers in the county - Arizona's Law Enforcement Accreditation Program showed off a custom platform for managing accreditation across agencies For years, local governments have had to choose between expensive, inflexible vendors and building custom software with engineering resources they often don't have. That's finally changing. Here's a look at the event:

12 improvements we shipped to Zite this week: 1. Auto mode Auto mode keeps building with fewer interruptions, automatically approving routine steps while stopping for sensitive actions. 2. See your active MCP connections Zite now shows which 3rd party agents are connected to your workspace. 3. Manage MCP across your team Admins can see when each agent connection was last used, which workspaces it can access, and revoke access when needed. 4. Connect integrations once per workspace Connect Slack, Airtable and other integrations once, then use them across every app in your workspace. Secrets now work the same way, too. 5. Safer publishing Zite now warns you before publishing if the change would affect who can access your app. 6. Better databases Lookups can reference other lookups, formulas can display results as colored select chips, and Airtable imports now support up to 250,000 records. 7. Attio, Apollo + Typeform Three new integrations are live. You can also request new integrations directly from the integration picker. 8. app.zite .com The Zite dashboard and editor now live on the Zite domain. 9. Better workflow history Workflow history now goes back 90 days instead of 7, with clearer errors and retry logic. 10. Search your whole workspace Search now finds tables, people, roles and connections in a workspace, not just apps. 11. Builds survive interruptions Builds interrupted by a deploy or network issue can now be resumed in one click. 12. Automatic model fallback If Opus declines a request, Zite automatically retries with a fallback model instead of ending the build. We have several major feature releases coming out next week in @zite, stay tuned.

We also quietly shipped a brand-new zite.com yesterday I’ll miss parts of our old brand, but it was time for some of the overly playful illustrations to go Zite is increasingly being used for mission-critical work, and we want the brand to reflect that Building business software has historically been complicated, slow, and clunky. Building in Zite should be fun So while the brand is growing up a bit, we’ll keep finding ways to bring the playfulness into the product!
Today we’re turning your Claude subscription into a full AI app builder. Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to Zite MCP and ask for an app. It goes live with its own database, logins for your whole team, roles for who sees what. Zero Zite credits.

We’ve been heads down rebuilding the foundations of @zite for several months. Two weeks ago, that new foundation went live. It was a massive update (over 250k lines of code...), and will transform what our customers can achieve with our products. I’ll be sharing more of what it unlocks over the next few weeks. Here’s part 1: 🏠 Workspaces 2.0 Your database, apps, forms, people, and shared building blocks now live together in one workspace. This gives Zite much more context and makes it possible to share logic across apps. ✅ See what the Agent is doing You can now follow a live checklist as Zite works through a build. 💬 Steer the Agent mid-build Send another message while Zite is working to clarify something or change direction. No need to wait for it to finish. ▶️ Resume builds If you stop the Agent halfway through, you can now pick up right where you left off. 🎯 Edit with comments Click an element in your app, describe the change you want, and Zite will make the targeted edit. ✨ Improve my app Run a focused Review, Design, or Accessibility pass on your app automatically. 📋 Move forms between workspaces Move forms into new workspaces and connect responses to a new or existing Zite Database table. I’m really excited about what this new foundation unlocks. More on that very soon. As always, let me know what you think and keep the Zite feedback coming!

Having built a no-code platform (including a database product) I know first hand that many of the tech decisions made pre-AI are the wrongs ones post. Airtable is a great product, but I’d guess they struggled to capitalize on the huge wave of AI builders because they didn’t have the right foundation. Part of why I’m so bullish on @zite is because I know all our tech is built AI first. All the best parts of no-code without the trade offs!
We've officially agreed to acquire Airtable for $1.285B! 😍

Airtable is being acquired by Bending Spoons for 1.285B. A few thoughts from seeing how ~100k teams use Airtable alongside our products: At roughly 2.7x its $480M in ARR, Airtable is either very expensive or an absolute steal. It’s expensive if Airtable fails to adapt. AI-generated software will erode horizontal SaaS, per-seat pricing will keep weakening, and customers will gradually replace it with software built specifically for them. Bending Spoons is betting that Airtable’s revenue will remain durable through that transition. But with the right execution, I think there is a 10x upside case. Teams use Airtable to run important operational processes where data, permissions, integrations, security, and reliability matter. That gives it a deeply embedded position inside hundreds of thousands of organizations. Bending Spoons now has two very different paths to choose from. The first is the PE playbook: reduce product development, increase prices, and improve margins. Airtable is sticky enough that this could work for a few years. But it would be bad for customers and a huge waste of the opportunity. The second is the ambitious path: evolve Airtable from a tool where teams organize work into a platform that can help perform it. If Airtable can add an intelligence layer that understands how organizations operate and safely executes work, it could accelerate both its growth and the value it provides customers. Airtable tried moving in this direction with Hyperagent, but it felt too little, too late, and disconnected from the core product. My guess is that building this into a product as mature as Airtable is simply hard. Its custom database and interface builder were created for a different era of software, before isolated databases became easy to provision and LLMs could generate custom interfaces and workflows. If Bending Spoons takes the ambitious path, it has a significant technical challenge ahead. I hope it does, and makes Airtable much better for its customers. Or maybe they’ll see @zite coming and decide to throw in the towel 😉

One of our most requested Zite features is now live: Generate custom PDFs in Zite workflows. Create quotes, contracts, invoices, reports, certificates, inspection summaries, and more. Then email the PDF, store it in database, or let users download, archive, or sign the finished document. The best part: Zite handles logic that’s usually very painful in traditional no-code tools: repeated sections, dynamic data, conditional content, calculations, and custom formatting. Just ask Zite to get started. Available now on all plans.

New in Zite ✨ Plan Mode 2.0 Zite now creates wireframes for every screen before it builds. Plans stream in as they’re created, and edits affect only the part of the plan you want to change. AI is great at building. It’s not great at guessing what you need. Plan mode 2.0 is another step towards fixing that! Try it now at zite dot com

Zite apps can now connect to Microsoft Teams, Outlook and OneDrive. Available on all plans. And on Enterprise, two new features for admins: Audit Logs - a full record of activity across your organization. Who changed what, when. Logins, database edits, permission updates - tracked and filterable. Creation controls - set org-wide defaults for who can create apps, forms, or databases. Individual teams can override those defaults when you need the flexibility. Zite dot com
