One man gave humanity:
• Flying cars
• Free speech
• Internet from space
• Reusable rockets
• Electric cars
• Self-driving cars
• Brain chips and so much more.
And there are still some people who think he doesn't know what he's doing.
That man is Elon Musk.
Earth is super lucky to have him. He should never be taken for granted.

I’ve spent a few days thinking about the Tesla Roadster reveal and landed somewhere I haven’t seen much discussion. I’m neither a Tesla fanboy nor a Tesla hater. And I couldn’t care less whether what we saw technically qualifies as a flying car. Three takeaways: (1) The risk of that live demonstration going horribly wrong was real. Almost no CEO would willingly expose their company to that kind of public humiliation for a product with so little financial upside. Elon did. (2) That willingness to attempt the seemingly impossible is what makes Tesla special. It’s also arguably Elon’s greatest contribution to America. He’s helped bring back something we’ve lost. The American spirit of chasing big scary ideas that most people think are impossible. That mindset is spreading across a new generation of founders and its long term impact on America’s future could dwarf anything Tesla ever sells. I think this is deeply underappreciated. (3) Can we just acknowledge how insanely cool that moment was? We’ve reached a strange place culturally where even extraordinary feats of human ingenuity immediately become arguments about why they don’t count. Not everything needs to be a debate. Sometimes we should just be able to stand back together and marvel at what humans are capable of. I’ve been both bullish and critical of Tesla’s ambitions over the years. But watching Elon and his team push the boundaries of what’s possible reminds me why I’m glad we have him. Whether the Roadster ever makes Tesla a dollar or impacts $TSLA stock price is almost beside the point. We need more people willing to risk failure in pursuit of things the rest of us think are impossible. Because when they succeed we all win.

Chris Rock just nailed one of the biggest problems with wokeness.
Helping people who feel marginalized is good. He says so himself. The trouble starts when a good cause becomes an institution.
The first few witches were real. Then you open a witch office. Now there are salaries, budgets and pensions to justify, and the office needs a steady supply of witches to keep existing.
That’s the trap. Once a cause becomes a career, solving the problem means losing your job. So the problem never gets solved. It just keeps getting redefined.
A system built to find wrongdoing will keep finding it, whether it’s there or not.

Yea I take back on what I said about MKBHD. He is genuinely impressed with the demo but also raises a fair concern about the feasibility of this tech on the everyday road. I’m unsure how this would work. Maybe the car won’t let you use these tech when it’s unsafe to do so? The smoke it self will be a visibility concern for other drivers on the road. I’m curious how the rocket package will be sold
MKBHD on the new Tesla Roadster event: "one of maybe the most insane product demos of all time" 🤯 Here's his honest take
• It drove up a wall and hung upside down ~60 ft in the air with 4,000+ kg of downforce, then vaulted off and flip-landed tires down
• "If literally any other company did that demo, we'd all be shocked"
• Four versions: Base, Performance (fan downforce, ~1.6 s 0-60 per MKBHD), Thrust (200 L tank of nitrogen at 10,000 psi, sub-1 s 0-60) and Rocket (six more thrusters, 400 L tank, one seat, 0-60 in 0.6 s)
• His spec rundown: 1,300 hp and 1,400 Nm from two smaller rear motors, 500 kW charging (15-80% in 10 min), 25-30 min of max-power track driving
• Honest takes: not sold on the design yet, wants answers on crash safety with a 10,000 psi tank, and doubts the Rocket will ever be buyable. He calls the fan-car version "possible" for 2028
• His verdict: "a successful engineering exercise and marketing stunt… a demo that no one has ever seen before"
