Mushoku Tensei Season 3 Episode 13 “The Diary” hit different for me on the mental health side. Rudy puts his pillars on people. When somebody like Sylphy gets pulled out of his life, that pillar goes with her and he crashes. He doesn’t really have a version of himself that’s solid just by himself. I get the grief. That’s normal. What I clocked is the dependency on top of the grief. Same thing with the bottle in that moment. Alcohol + a bad emotion doesn’t calm you down — it feeds it. I’ve had to walk away from a drink mid-conversation for that exact reason. Lesson from this episode if you’re paying attention: be careful where you put your pillars. You need some that still stand when people leave, money hits zero, or the circumstance flips.
