My father was a member of the National Reconciliation Committee, which was established by several political parties and the political bureau of Ansar Allah.
A few months before my father's assassination, Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi contacted him and authorized him to reach out to all the misled individuals whom Saudi Arabia was using as a pretext to continue its war on Yemen.
My father did indeed contact political figures, and they discussed the need to end the war and for all Yemenis to sit down together and address their problems without Saudi interference.
About two months before my father's assassination, figures from Marib secretly entered Sana'a and met with Ansar Allah And with the other parties present in Sana'a at our home. and then figures from southern Yemen also came to Sana'a.
My father's goal was to neutralize the pretext Saudi Arabia was using to continue its aggression against Yemen. In the days leading up to his assassination, I saw my father very optimistic and enthusiastic, believing that a path to peace had opened.
Saudi Arabia somehow found out what was happening and feared losing control, so they quickly sent a cell to assassinate my father.
On October 27, 2020, my father was assassinated while next to my younger sister. They shot him 21 times, and he martyrdom instantly

Today is the birth anniversary of Zainab, sister of Imam Husain, who attained martyrdom at Karbala in 680 AD along with most of his relatives and followers.
The historical significance of Zainab is that the tyrant Yazid and his army and followers would have suppressed from disclosure all that had occurred in Karbala, and no one would have known about it, but for her revelation..
After the massacre at Karbala, Zainab, and the few other survivors, were bound and put in chains, and taken to several places. Wherever she went, she spoke aloud to people about what had happened at Karbala, and because of her speeches people in Arabia came to know about the tragedy. Particularly important were her speeches in Kufa and Damascus.
Her celebrated speech in Yazid's court in Damascus, is preserved in Shia historical tradition and chronicles. She was brought into Yazid's court in chains, yet she fearlessly gave an uncompromising defence of truth, challenging Yazid's triumph, and telling him that power did not erase truth and morality. She had witnessed the massacre of her family at Karbala, yet her spirit was undaunted and unbroken.
In her speech in Yazid's court, she interrupted Yazid's insults, addressed his court harshly, lamenting Husain, castigating Yazid, and defending the family of Muhammad. She then asked Yazid if it was just to keep his women guarded, while parading the grand daughter of Muhammad in the streets. As with the Kufa speech, this Damascus speech is also infused with several Quranic references. She boldly told Yazid that his victory was only temporary, his efforts futile, and his shame eternal.
