What the actual f, @VaDOTNOVA @ArlingtonDES?! I can’t even remember how long ago it snowed (3 wks?) and you can’t even clear the @BikeArlington path at 50/Fairfax Dr & N Barton???!
As you can see from the tracks, I’m not the only bike rider / walker to brave the ice.

Thanks to @NationalZoo and its staff and volunteers for hosting members over the past 2 weeks!
How early does the panda house open? What’s the best time to see the pandas awake and active? Here’s what you need to know as pandas return to D.C. wapo.st/4g87RW8

I don't live in AdMo so I can't say either way, but it does seem very early in the project's life to judge whether it will be effective — and what effective means. Change is a fact of life, and people eventually adapt. I'm curious how opinions will change by later this summer.
Thx to 4-man @ArlingtonDES crew for FINALLY clearing the ice sheet on the pedestrian refuge between Wilson & Clarendon @ N Veitch in Courthouse neighborhood.
🚨 Heads up, Adams Morgan! DDOT’s Clear Lanes program is expanding to Columbia Road NW (Harvard to 17th) starting Jan 27. Keep bus lanes clear—violations will carry $100 fines starting March 17. Details: ate.ddot.dc.gov #ClearLanes #BusLaneSafety
Found out the hard way at 8am on a Sunday that @ArlingtonDES didn’t shovel the @ArlingtonVA Blvd trail from Fairfax Dr westbound. Thanks… for nuthin. cc @BikeArlington
.@ArlingtonDES is legally responsible for clearing @ArlingtonVA-owned sidewalks. Clarendon Blvd @ N Danville park.
I *still* don’t know where the second @bikeshare station is in this project area… and neither does Bikeshare. 🤷♂️
DO NOT / NOT enter the protected @BikeArlington lane on Clarendon Blvd thru Clarendon. It’s an ice luge. cc @ArlingtonDES
I’m just a 🐼 Stan, standing in front of the @NationalZoo, asking it for content. 🌨️
Due to the inclement weather, the Smithsonian’s National Zoo is closed Monday, Jan. 6. ❄️ Photo: Bao Li in his outdoor yard munching a carrot during the Nov. 22 snowfall. Paws-crossed for panda snowments Jan. 6. Follow #DCPandas.
Clarendon, 9:40pm: one @ArlingtonDES vehicle and one @ArlingtonVaPD vehicle standing in @BikeArlington lane—next to empty curbside parking spots. 🙄
The new flexposts on N Barton at Wilson didn’t stop a jerk driver from cutting me off this morning—tho she did have to make a boxier turn to do so. (Arguably, without the posts she would have cut the turn and I wouldn’t have had to brake urgently.)
Clear roads for a bike commute! (But the few drivers up to the usual shenanigans, e.g., reversing on a one-way road…)
Well, disinformation about RFK stadium goes straight from Musk to @mikiebarb’s mouth today, so… it works. 🤷♂️

Excited to meet you!!
🐼🍏 Playing with your food is *always* allowed at the Zoo! In the wild, giant pandas spend much of their time looking for the perfect bamboo stalks to eat. To encourage Bao Li and Qing Bao to search for their Zoo diets, our giant panda team comes up with creative ways to make mealtime fun. In addition to bamboo, treats—such as diced fruits, vegetables and panda bread—are scattered throughout the habitats.
. . .
🐾👀 They’re also hidden inside puzzle feeders—toys that are built to withstand the bears’ teeth, claws and pounces. To get the food out, the pandas chase, spin and push the feeders until they reap their rewards. Bao Li and Qing Bao seem to enjoy any toy that they can swat around, jump on top of, or carry around their habitat.

🐾 Follow #DCPandas for updates, and meet our pandas when they make their giant debut Jan. 24, 2025. LEARN MORE: nationalzoo.si.edu/dcpandas.
In which @ArlingtonDES garbage truck driver doesn’t even bother pulling to curb and leaves truck running in @BikeArlington lane IN FRONT OF County govt HQ. 🙄
