I've vibe coded replacements to 7 of Adobe's apps in Rust. They're open source (links below)
I don't do CAD anymore. Every part is a Python program that builds the model in memory using build123d, an open-source parametric modeling Python framework. It then exports the model as a STEP file, which Fusion 360 imports so they can be inspected visually.
A high-level YAML spec file holds the numbers that define the robot as a whole - dimensions, masses, actuators, joint limits - which is read by the code. The python code obviously is written by an LLM (I currently use Opus).
I did consider using Onshape, but its API is capped to a few thousands calls a year, which make it unusable for me: I use Opus to push the parts, build the assembly, create the joints, set their limits and values, assign materials and densities, and inspect the result. That's easily a few hundred calls a day.
This is Q2, a redesign of my Q1 quadruped. A major simplification and an AI-first design: I first made sure the design reaches fast RL convergence in simulation, and only then moved on to CAD.
- Four identical legs: no left/right parts
- Direct-drive knees: no linkage or belts
- No reduction gear after the motors output
- Knees rotate 360°: no predefined knee posture
- Low standing load: almost no knee torque needed
- Shorter links: so lower leg inertia and joint torques
- Battery at the geometric center, so a nicer CoG
- One spec file drives both the sim model and the CAD, so CAD is essentially written in code. This is parametric CAD taken to the extreme: the CAD software is only used to review the design, not to build it
Weight, cost, manufacturing time and assembly effort would also drop significantly. Same battery design, same PCB, same compute.

פעם אחרונה שהרציתי שם היה כששמעון פרס מת... טוב נו, ננסה. פתחת את התאבון 😇 הכי גרוע, יקבלו את ההרצאה 🤦♂️

Er Loop | My most ambitious AI short film.
My take on Plato's Myth of Er, as a dark comedy.
Written, directed, produced and scored entirely by me.

mythos escaped the sandbox, got onto the real internet, uploaded malware to PyPI, got it installed on 15 real systems, stole credentials and broke into a real database.
and apparently this happened in 4 separate cases during cybersecurity evaluations.
the craziest part is claude kept telling itself the internet was simulated, despite evidence that it was actually real.
that reasoning apparently even fooled an offline safety monitor.
anthropic: “our pre release auditing did not warn us that misalignment of this severity was present.”
this is fucking crazy.
We’re sharing our alignment assessment of incidents in which Claude models gained unauthorized access to real systems during third-party cybersecurity evaluations mistakenly connected to the internet.
METR will also conduct an independent investigation, with wide-ranging access, including to transcripts beyond the window in which the incidents occurred, and to Anthropic employees permitted to share confidential information. Our initial agreement runs for eight weeks, and we intend to give METR as much time as it deems necessary to complete a thorough investigation. anthropic.com/research/align…

Just a friendly reminder that @NASA is building a nuclear-powered drone and sending it to Saturn’s moon Titan to search for the building blocks of life.
Honored to have helped build the laser that will zap Titan samples for analysis by the onboard mass spectrometer (called DraMS).
The actual spacecraft, a rotorcraft the size of a car, is being built by the legendary team at @JHUAPL.
It launches on a Falcon Heavy in July 2028, beginning a billion-mile journey to the outer Solar System.
Mission of a lifetime.
