I stopped going to cinemas after the pandemic. I don’t watch horror, and campy films usually make me cringe. But there I was, alone, on a random Tuesday workday, just to show support to my girl @_AZMartinez . And I’m SO glad I did. No spoilers, but everyone was right. RED CROWN is campy AF. It’s less horror and more gore, comedy, with a dash of drama and suspense. Almost 2 hours of mindless fun, laughing out loud while trying not to scream at the gory scenes. 😭 Do you go in expecting acting awards? No. CAMPY nga eh. OA when the scene calls for it, subdued when it needs to be. Everyone understood the assignment. Lahat may ambag. Harlene B. set the tone. Faith, Sanya, and Ashley brought the drama. Michelle commanded the screen like the Diva that she is. Athisa, our pambansang monyeka, slayed! Scene stealer! Shuvee was in her element. MJ, Ariella, and Gazini brought their A-game, their comedic timing were on point; and even the other queens had their moments. And then there’s AZ. That screen presence. That face card. The kind that makes you take notice even when she’s not the center of the scene. And that swimsuit competition? HOTTER THAN MOLTEN LAVA. (Nakahinga kaya ang best friend niya? 😭) AZ is a chemistry magnet. She has chemistry even with the other queens, and one of her side plots shows just how effortlessly she can build it with someone simply by standing beside them and locking eyes. Also, you can tell she STUDIED this role. Her voice, her intonation, the improvement? Noticeable. Her scenes weren’t fillers (dami nya exposure!) They were moments that stayed with me because I enjoyed them, and I enjoyed HER. To say I’m proud is an understatement. I stopped going to cinemas. I don’t do horror. I cringe at camp. But I went alone on a Tuesday for AZ, and I’d do it all over again. I will always support you, my girl. Kahit mag-isa ako sa sinehan. #RedCrown #AZMartinez

A premiere date and a poster are just the beginning. The real work starts NOW. 💛 We wanted TWBTY. We prayed for it. We begged for it. Half my TL is talking about Collab 3.0. I don’t watch, don’t plan to, and I certainly don’t judge those who do—or those who have already jumped ship. To each their own. Pero medyo nakakainis when accounts bearing AZ or AZRalph on their profiles start spewing opinions that, while entirely within their rights, inadvertently put AZ and Ralph in the line of fire. Let’s face it, ganito na ang bardagulan ngayon. “I don’t like your opinion, so I’ll bash whoever is on your profile.” Unfair? Absolutely. But that’s the unfortunate reality of stan culture. So here’s a gentle reminder: Your opinions are yours, but the faces on your profiles belong to people who shouldn’t have to bear the consequences of your words. By all means, speak your mind. Just be mindful that AZ and Ralph have nothing to do with your arguments about other people. They shouldn’t become collateral damage in battles they never signed up for. Freedom of expression comes with responsibility. Let’s not make AZ and Ralph pay the price for opinions they never expressed. 💛

AZ standing out by being campy and extra??? Love it! She really is made for this kasi we’ve seen how she can turn her vibrant personality into something so entertaining (Hello, Sari!) Hindi niya kailangang pilitin ang pagka-extra; parang default setting na niya ’yan! 😂 Tapos I feel like OB is born to serve theatrics, national costume pa nga lang may pa kwitis na. So AZ and OB is a perfect match. The campiness is natural, the charm is effortless, and somehow, kahit ang OA na, nakakatuwa sa sobrang endearing. Scene stealer for sure.
