Someone’s having a rough day (and fwiw I actually really like this)

New Roadster is already a l o t
New Roadster is beyond movies, beyond imagination, beyond human, yet still made by humans on Earth

I mean, I dont go to restaurants as often anymore...
Software is dead in that same way restaurants are dead because i can grow my own vegetables and own an air fryer

Physical AI. Tell me more.

"Doesn't a 3D printer do that?" No. No manufacturing technology to date produces a different machine from a different digital input. Imagine a car factory where, after a couple of cars roll off the line, a laptop emerges. Then a bicycle. Then a refrigerator. A 3D printer gives you a different shape. Not a different machine.

Apple's fix is requiring "very explicit user action." Meta says Muse's message access was opt-in; the columnist says he declined it during setup. Explicit is carrying a lot of weight here. xitter.cf/TechCrunch/status/2106…

Woah. Apple is Ford reincarnated. Principles behind the Model T economies: precision inputs drive scaled assemblies and a massive partner ecosystem for customization is the same thing that drove the Model T.

Microsoft asked its own staff to use less Claude and more homegrown AI. Customers buying Claude through Microsoft's tools are spending steadily more. Same product: rationed for employees, sold at retail.
Meta and Microsoft are reportedly cutting employees’ Claude usage to reduce costs (and push their own AI tools.) The Information reports that Microsoft cut its projected annual spending on internal Anthropic usage by more than a third, after earlier estimates put it at at least $1 billion. At Meta, Claude Code users fell from roughly 60,000 to 30,000. Layoffs contributed, but the report identifies the push toward Meta’s own coding tools as the bigger factor. Keep in mind: those news will be calculated for Anthropics upcoming IPO.

OpenAI took nearly three months to tell Australia its agent had been inside a Medicare statistics portal. Its policy on sharing sensitive information outside the company, it turns out, is very strict. xitter.cf/TechCrunch/status/2105…

Task, apparently: Australian prescription statistics. Also in the archived requests: State_Id=1 OR 1=1, aimed at the Education Department's civil-rights data API. The research got a little broad. xitter.cf/AsymmetricCyber/status…
We're releasing a report on our 48-hour investigation into rogue OpenAI agent activity. We found 55 additional websites probed by OpenAI agents, including those of the CDC, SEC, Mayo Clinic, and International Energy Agency. We uncovered novel tactics that erased records or made them inaccessible, access to government website staging environments, and evidence of attacker-style reconnaissance. Senior FTC official on the new AI probe: "We're not telling them to stop. We're not telling them to do anything." The rare investigation that exonerates the suspects in the press briefing.
JUST IN: The FTC has opened a broad probe into the safety of AI systems including Anthropic and OpenAI, a source familiar with the investigations confirmed to ABC News on Wednesday. abcnews.link/Mbnc5n1

Google, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI, X and Nvidia "will meet regularly to establish standards and best practices." Few standards bodies have such deep firsthand experience with everything they're about to evaluate. xitter.cf/Reuters/status/2105107…

The same filing calls Google, Amazon and Microsoft its investors, customers, cloud providers, distributors and competitors, with incentives that "may not be fully aligned." The existential risk section at least has company.
Anthropic plans to warn investors that advanced AI could pose 'catastrophic or existential risks to humanity' as it seeks a $2 trillion valuation, the biggest IPO in history. Mike Dolan explains reut.rs/4huN3Ll

Literally every day there’s a new AI agent I’m invited to use and automate the same things… again. Either I am literally going to have nothing left to do, or agents have no barriers to entry.

The paper's own evidence that AI already disobeys instructions didn't move its 2028 estimate for full R&D automation. Noted, then scheduled anyway.

Meta's newest pillar debuted with its incoming chief's former company down 14% before the opening bell -- the clearest review this plan has gotten so far.
We believe superintelligence will create significant new opportunities for all people and businesses. Meta already serves billions of people at scale and helps hundreds of millions of businesses reach customers. Today we are starting the next major pillar of our business, Meta Enterprise Platform, to help businesses use AI to grow and transform in new ways as well.

Nvidia's model here is the trick that made 90s browsers safe: put each page in its own tab. Thirty years later that isolation moved into a physical chip on the only wire to the model, because the software promise alone didn't hold.
Today, with over 100 industry partners, we introduced the NVIDIA Open Agent Safety Platform, bringing together OpenShell and Sentry. Artificial intelligence is extraordinary technology that will advance discovery, productivity, security, health, and prosperity for generations to come. But its full promise can only be realized when people have confidence that AI is being built to be safe and deployed with wisdom and responsibility. This is bigger than a single product. It's the beginning of an open ecosystem to build the trust layer for safe agent systems. Together, we are building the foundation of the AI economy. Trust and innovation are not in conflict. Safety is how trust is earned. We must build not only the most capable AI, but the most trusted AI, so that this extraordinary technology can realize its enormous promise for the world. nvda.ws/4hcoq7m

In 2023 Apple won this case by getting a judge to exclude expert testimony over what damping technically means. The reversal of that exact ruling is why today's number is $5.7 billion instead of zero.
